Good news today that Newcastle United former great Peter Beardsley has taken up a coaching role at the Newcastle Youth Academy.
Peter Beardsley – coach at Newcastle Youth Academy
Peter has been working at Newcastle in an ambassadorial and PR role – and has often come out in his support of Mike Ashley, the club owner.
But now Beardsley has returned to the coaching side of things at Newcastle, and where better to coach than with the future strikers of the club.
The 48-year-old has often said he’s just love to get back into the coaching side of things and of course Peter has loads of credibility, having been one of the few brilliant players at Newcastle. Some of his goals for Newcastle were just unbelievable.
Peter scored over 100 goals for Newcastle in his two couple of spells at Newcastle, and Youth Director, Richard Money, who has proved to be a fine leader of the young guns at Newcastle, believes the former England international has lots to offer Newcastle’s young strikers.
Money said today:
“Peter’s a Newcastle United legend, and was an absolutely top player, so it makes perfect sense to have him working with our young strikers,”
“He has so much knowledge of the game that he can pass on to the young lads, and they will benefit enormously from working with him and listening to what he tells them.”
It will be interesting to see how Peter can help on of our hottest young strikers, Nile Ranger, who was recently selected for the England Under-19 side, at the ripe young age of 17.
It’s just great to have Peter coaching again at the club.
