The Evening Chronicle has some good reports this afternoon, and the word coming out of the Newcastle Benton Headquarters that no stone will be left unturned to save the Newcastle club this season.
Dowie and Shearer – the dynamic duo – can they do it?
And it looks like Alan Shearer is working around the clock in a bid to save Newcastle United from relegation.
Alan will be at Anfield tonight to take in Liverpool’s game with Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals, and of course we have to play Liverpool – at Anfield, in our our final games of the season.
Iain Dowie has already checked out Aston Villa, who are on a bad run right now, and we play Villa away on the very last day of the season, and we have to hope we have secured safety before then, but you never know.
Iain Dowie says there is a lot more going on right now at the club than just scouting missions and said that he and Shearer have been at the training ground until 7:00pm every night.
Iain told the Evening Chronicle today:
“All we want to do is make sure this town has a top-flight team.” “Nothing else matters, not one individual, it’s just keeping the team up.”
“We’ll be going to Liverpool to watch the Chelsea game tonight,” “He wants to do it properly. He wants to talk about football.” “We’ve already watched DVDs of Stoke and we’ll continue to do that.”
“Alan is a football man and all he wants to talk about is football.” “He’s not here as a figurehead, he’s here to do it right. And that should be credited.”
“It was easy for him to stay where he was, but he’s not done that.” “He’s come here and he wants to make a change.”
It’s all hands to the pumps at Newcastle right now, and we have to hope we have a turnaround very soon, and a win at Stoke City on Saturday would do very nicely, thank you very much.
