Mark Viduka – fit for Sunday’s game at Spurs

Mark will probably start on the bench, but with some doubts about Oba Martins’ fitness, Mark should see some action on Sunday, probably in the second half.

We have no idea what formation Alan will use for Sunday’s game, but he did say yesterday to Newcastle United TV they had been working on a system for Spurs, but was hardly going to say what it will be.

Mark Viduka is a good player, who can score goals too, so we have to hope he gets a good 30 minute run-out on Sunday and comes through it well, because we can definitely use the Australian in the remaining games of the season. Mark was great last year in the 4-3-3 formation Kevin Keegan used, and we have to hope he can do a job for us this season too.

Mark has struggled with an Achilles problem for over a year, but Alan is hoping he can still make a difference in the last 6 game of the season.

Shearer talked about Viduka this morning:

“Mark has trained well. Obviously he’s got a huge amount of talent and we believe, if we can keep him fit, he will play a big part and help us stay up.”

Former Newcastle midfielder Jermaine Jenas is a major doubt for Sunday with a hamstring problem, but the bad news is that the impressive Honduran holding midfielder Wilson Palacios, is now back from suspension and will face Newcastle on Sunday. That’s a pity.

Comments very welcome.

The pity is that everyone complains when decent players are player for the opposition, but you forget that on paper we have a decent team too!!! Albeit that they haven’t performed for a while , SO LETS HOPE THEY START PERFORMING WE NEED A GOOD WIN A SPURS!!

great! i bet the ground staff are fuming. The fat lump will wreck our pitch.

Glad jenas is out . palacios and huddlestone will dominate the centre of midfield.

Whatever. I’m sure we’ll get our usual three points at the lane.

So what. Viduka being available is hardly inspiring. If anything it is worrying!

However, if he is actually fit he should get some game time as he’s the one player likely to bring the best of out Owen with his hold-up play and deft passing. We need someone with a bit of technique on the pitch.
