Nile Ranger has signed a new contract until 2012 at St James’ Park, and is now trying to break into the first team at the Tyneside club.
Nile Ranger – wants to break though into first team
Nile is now looking forward to making his first-team debut at Newcastle and maybe he will get that chance tomorrow at Tottenham.
Nile talked to the Evening Chronicle this morning:
“It would be amazing to get on the pitch – I would not stop running!” “It would be a great buzz.”
“Hopefully, I can get on the pitch this season.” “If I get the chance, I just have to go out there and take it – and if that is at Spurs so be it.”
Both Nile Ranger and Andy Carroll warmed up after about an hour last week at Stoke, but it was Andy who got the call from Alan. Nile says that while they were on the bench together last Saturday, Andy had said he would score if he got on – and of course that’s exactly what he did.
“I was having a spin on the bike and Andy grabbed the equalizer.”
“He said he would score when we were on the bench! He is doing well.”
“However, we are all battling in this together.”
Certainly it will take most of our squad to be participating in the last 6 games of the season if we are to survive, and as we’ve said before, the sooner we get the first win under Alan, the more chance we will have of surviving.
Hopefully that win will come tomorrow at White Hart Lane, so we can all relax, just a little.
