Shearer Surpised at Sheer Size Of Back-Room Staff

If Alan Shearer stays on at Newcastle this summer, he may do Mike Ashley a big favor and reduce the size of the back-room staff at Newcastle, which is apparently huge.

Alan and Iain – let’s hope they can get win today

The People is reporting today that Alan has been surprised at the significant number of people working behind the scenes at Newcastle, and wonders what they all do.

Part of this is the legacy from the short 8 month Sam Allardyce reign, who of course brought in stacks of his people and most of them still seem to be at Newcastle.

That proverbial unnamed source, who seems to be especially busy on Sundays and is also close to Alan – or so we are told, told the People this morning:

“Alan didn’t know whether he was coming or going trying to remember so many people’s names and their jobs.”  “On Tuesday he turned up to see the reserves and was visibly shaken to see so many staff on the sidelines.”

“So he decided to compile a checklist – if only to get a handle on all the resources at his disposal. He had them all writing down what they did and the times they did it.”  “It’s a measure of his determination to rescue the club that he has taken the time and trouble to learn all about everyone’s job.”

“And make no mistake, he’ll use them all if it means keeping Newcastle United in the Premier League.”

So it looks like Alan is more interested in finding out what they all do, and then he can sit down with Iain Dowie in the summer, hopefully, and understand if they really need all the back-room staff  the club has right now.

And we suppose that report yesterday, about bringing in Kenny Dalglish as Director of Football, which we found strange, given that Alan has always been against Directors of Football at any club, and was reported in The Sun, is not true after all.

Alan said today:

“We are not bringing in any new people and we will be relying on those we have already got.”

Getting back to something that really matters – we really need that win this afternoon at White Hart Lane.

Howay The Lads!!

Getting ready for the Championship….!!! :-/

Sounds sensible anyway and I am sure it will appeal to Mike Ashley as a business man
