D-Day For Shearer And Newcastle On Monday Night

Monday night’s game is Alan Shearer’s biggest game for quite some time, because anything but a win could see Newcastle finally relegated this season.

Alan Shearer – must win game

But it seems like Monday could be D for decision day, when if we lose or just draw, our 16 consecutive seasons in the Premier League will come to an end.

Shearer cannot be too happy that Newcastle have managed just one point in the 3 games Alan has been at the helm on Tyneside.

But if the lads can become better organized and get some confidence into their game, there is still time to pick up enough points to survive in the Premier League this season, and then the summer will need to be a huge time of change at the Newcastle United club.

Yes, we know you’ve heard that one too many times before, but with Alan at the helm things will be different.

Shearer said:

“It’s my biggest game for a long, long time. We all know the stakes, so we need to go out and get three points.”

“It sounds easy, but it won’t be. We all know the importance of it. Now we just need to go out and do it. We have to go at it and grab those three points.”

“I think nine points could just be enough, looking other teams’ fixtures.” “I might be wrong, but I’m asking the players to win their three home games, starting with Monday against Portsmouth.”

Three wins in our last 3 home games should be enough to secure survival for another year, but if we do survive the club must ensure in the summer that we have a squad that not only can survive easily in the Premier League, but can challenge for a top six place next season.

If we do get relegated we don’t even want to think too much about what will happen, but the squad will need to be decimated, but after the way they’ve performed this season, maybe that’s not a bad thing, after all, and we do have some great youngsters coming through at the club.

Comments welcome.

Yeah,,and those youngsters will promote us back to the EPL….yeah right.

If thats the case,,how come Leeds who btw have 3 times better academy than us are still strugling for the 2nd spot in division 1.

Lets talk realisticly…..even if noone leaves,i’m still not 100% convinced that we’ll get the promotion that easily.

We loose – we are pretty much relegated

    We win – hope lives!

    Its as simple as that!

Ed, Shearer said that he is going at the end of the season, so why do you keep prating on about his plans for the summer. Are you saying that Alan Shearer is a liar?

I think we should buy Adam Johnson, Michael Johnson, Djibril Cisse who the Mackems are backing out of buying, Miguel Veloso who wants a move to the premiership and i would offer Fat Sam Kevin Nolan and cash for Stephen Warnock and maybe Sol Campbell or Sami Hyypia on a free to bring in an experienced head at the back.

Release Viduka, Cacapa, Butt and Geremi sell Ameobi, Smith, Xisco and send Gonzalez back to Valencia.

When we stay up that is (Which we will)

Well the mackems think their safe-and maybe they are-but u can never speak to soon-after their (away) game at west brom today, they have a pretty tough run in ide say-anyway were due a change of luck and have to think positive and forward now-if we can beat portmouth on monday-and we can-we mite just go to anfield witha little more hope and pride and maybe even make them drop 2 points by gettin a draw-its not impossible-if results go in our favour today and tmoro we could be looking a bit more optomistic going into the liverpool game,anyway-lets push the piana with the support and see what we can get the attacking formation to do-they mite remember how good it feels to actually score some and dare i say win! lol viduka can hold the ball up well and martins and owen and he can surely bag a cple or more-then maybe bring on nile ranger ide say with half hour to go-haway the lads! bring the noise! il be in leazes corner with the bairn-theres still tickets left get ya arses there !

I would settle for those HT scores at FT. Especially if West Brom hang on for a win. The more teams we can drag into this battle the better. This is pure torture having to wait till monday night.
