    erm erm erm

    dont know

  • Was Joey Barton (before the sending off) for me. He linked the midfield and attack which is something we havent had all season.

If it had not been for Haper we really would have been buried! Make him captain. We are getting no leadership from those over the hill hacks Butt and Owen!

  • Beye would make a good captain too. He was captain at Marseille and is one of our best players. Harper would be a good captain too.

BASSONG was our best player yesterday. For someone so young and in his first season in a terrible team, he looks so composed.

At various times yesterday he picked up the ball took it past the opposition and carried it out to midfield with a great pass.

Him and Beye for me are the only ones from the first 11 that should be saved. Not counting Enrique who didn’t play but is also improving every season.

The entire midfield and strike force should be sold. The ones that have the quality (Owen, Martins, Viduka) don’t seem bothered by our plight. The ones with no quality but plenty of spirit (Butt and Smith) are Championship standard players anyway.

And Harper is a million miles from Given. His positional play in goal is very questionable. He doesn’t read the game well but to his credit is a very good shot stopper.

The strange thing about the remaining few weeks, is that none of these high earners can save us…..only HULL can save us from going down.

I was gutted that I had to miss the last ten minutes of the match despite being 2 down at that time. It was hard to see who was our best player as they all seemed to lose their heads after the first goal. I am afraid to say that I disagree about Harper. he simply cannot command his box at all. He stands on his line and never comes for crosses or corners. he seems to watch balls pass over his six yard box (sometimes even with his hands down) and doesn’t move at all. Granted he makes some decent saves but he was awful yesterday.

I quickly switched 5 live on when I jumped intot he car and the commentators said they’d thought Harper was “hopeless”. There’s a reason why he never got ahead of Given in all that time – he’s simply not quite god enough. I hate to say all of that as he’s stuck with the club all this time but (devil’s advocate here!) if he had any real ambition he would’ve moved on ages ago rather than pick up his rather substantial wage each week when not playing regular football.

I’d give Tim Krul a chance for the last 3 games. One thing he does when I’ve seen him in the reserves is command his box. Maybe it’s time to give him a chance.

Some big decisions again for Shearer leading up to next Monday.

We can still do it though! Come oooooonnnnnn!

    Be my pupil please !

Before his sending off Barton did play well.
However Bassong was my man of the match.

i hope we do get turnball, very good keeper, alot more commanding than harper, so is krul.

and people saying bassong was good yesterday are u joking?? he was awfull, got beat everytime in the air by kuyt, anytime he did win a header he got no distance on it, everyone always says he is really good and all this, but the past few games he has been dire, but done the occasional good thing. it pains me to say that as i like the lad, next yer id like to see this as our sqaud if we stay in the prem

    Jordi gomez
    D.Gibson (LOAN)
    Duff (BACKUP)
    Someone like robert
    Someone like solano
    JonJo Shelvey

    Macheda (LOAN)

Smith as backup you must be joking, rather have someone who are actually capable of scoring goals. Its not that bad of a squad though, but Forester, krul and Harper are all better than turnbull

    My championship team

Dont think anyone would want Barton but an idiot as he is hes still a very good player. I hope Jonas will stay but he wouldnt want to risk his international careear, he would torture all of the full backs in championship

we should sign young english lads who could become good much like we did when robson was here.

That used to be the most balanced team in th prem apart from united and arsenal, we could do no worse than go for young british talent

id obviosly love to see ranger and kadar, tozer etc in the team.

One of my main signings would be collison

toonfactor- the reason boro fans dont think so is because he wont sign a contract, they were all calling for him to be englands no1 before he rejected there contract offer

    Geordie Gerrard-

Ebanks Blake? Why on earth would he leave Wolves when he has just been promoted with them as Championship top scorer, even if a big club came in for him he would probably want to stay loyal.

And Collison? He’s first choice at West Ham when fit and they are a much better side than us at the minute. Crouch wouldn’t leave Pompey for us either.

However, Naughton is a very good talent and it would be worth a bid if Sheffield United don’t win the play-offs.

Doubt Bates would be any good for us, he looks like the type of player who is playing well for Boro cos he is a local lad with passion, I can imagine him not doing so well for us, plus he is injury prone.

oba- apart from dzeko they are all prety reasonable targets, we need to try young british players, we should definatley go for collison and make him a priority, it doesnt matter if we stayed up that west ham finnished above us, we could easily pinch him off them

That wasnt even Newcastles most balanced team, We were always far too open with Jenas and Dyer together in midfield.

Speed and Dyer was our best midfield pairing then as was O’Brien and Woodgate as centre backs.

    Andy Griifin rarely played.

craig i was using that team, as i remeber football focus being on the day before we played everton and it showed that team and it was complimenting us for having so much british talent, was saying jenas was the new viera, dyer was the best attacking midfielder in the prem at the time, solano was cunning, robert had qaulity, bramble one of englands most exciting cb’s along with woodgate.

the team i would most like to swap with outside of the big 4 would be everton, there midfield is auwesome and i get really jelous,

The other week i said i didnt see another win for Hull this season, I now dont see another point for Sunderland this season, Keep believing Boro and Fulham cannot sit back and do what Portsmouth did, They need the points as much as us the gaps will be there and our strikers must take the opportunities they are afforded.

If we stay up, Players we could target are:

Michael Johnson: City are more that likely going to buy loads of players, Restricting opportunities for the lad, Who has admitted to considering his options.

Miguel Veloso: Wants to move to the premiership, Has an agreement with sporting to leave in the summer.

Adam Johnson: Boro wont want to sell as Downing will leave but if they go down i think we should have a punt, Really impresses me when ive seen him.

Jermaine Pennant: Free Transfer. Better than our other options on the right, Liverpool wont give him a new deal, Portsmouths finances probably wont allow then to either.

Michael Ball: Free Transfer. Before people laugh he is a cheap and cheerful back up for the improving Enrique, Very solid on his day and was terrific for Everton and Rangers.

Djibril Cisse: Sunderland are backing out on their deal to buy him regardless of their position come the end of the season, Available for £6m to £8m.

Micah Richards: Again people may laugh but he is apparantly about to be shown the door at City, He could be Beyes long term replacement and can you imagine a Richards, Taylor, Bassong and Enrique back four for the next decade.

I know deep down Ashley wont spend anywhere near that much money but if you dont have a dream what do we have to hope for.

no chance of richards will go villa or arsenal, no chance of michael johnson as we were meant to have messed him about and he didnt like it, it looks like veloso will go city, i would love to have cisse but spurs are sniffing, ball would be ok on a free though.

i would like johnson, good left foot, very quick and skillfull.

that back four sounds v.good, even wheater would be a good buy to put with bassong

Everton aren’t a “one man team” Toon Factor, that’s just silly!

Cahill, Fellaini, Arteta, Baines etc. Moyes has built a very good team which works well together.
