Be On Time At 10:00am – Too Much For Some Players

Alan Shearer has come out today and said there has been no huge increase in discipline at the club, under his stewardship

alan-shearer-3425

Alan Shearer – just be on time for training – at 10:00 am

Alan talked about the new discipline this morning:

“There’s been a lot made of the discipline, but there’s been no big crackdown,” “All we ask is people to be in on time at 10am.”

“There was a fine system in place, and I’ve increased that because I didn’t believe the previous one was working. I don’t believe that’s too much to ask people.”

It tells you a lot about the unreal world these players live in when some have objected to having to be on time – at 10:00am mind you.  Most people have been at work at least 2 hours by then, so these players should wake up – and that ‘s also an instruction for when they are on the field of play.

Some of them look half asleep, and it’s as if they have never faced any adversity in life. They’ll get short shrift from Newcastle fans, that’s for sure, and a lot of them are just spoiled.

Shearer would not elaborate on the reasons behind Barton’s suspension, but as we mentioned earlier he doesn’t think the uproar has distracted his squad for their biggest game of the season.

Alan said this morning:

“Joey Barton’s been suspended until further notice. The club wants to look at a few things and won’t make another statement until the time is right.”

“There are more important things than that going on this week. It hasn’t affected us, to be honest.”

“The mood around the place has been good despite the result, Training’s been fine.”

We think it’s likely that Newcastle will issue a statement shortly, either saying Joey Barton will be sacked, or that he has played his last game for the club, and is now available for transfer.

We hope it’s the latter so we can get some money for him.

As we’ve said before, Shearer will take no nonsense from his players, especially right now, and you would hardly expect anything different.

I think that Shearer expects no more from his players than he himslef gave when he was giving his all for NUFC. Al is a fair bloke and not some training ground or dressing room bully. If some of the prima donnas we have had given as much as Al did then we would be where Villa are now. Discipline? How about some discipline in the gutter press columns for a change – or a start?

Ed, whipping up another rabid hate campaign against the players on little or no evidence is not helpful to the club, especially at this of all times. It has never been helpful in the past either. I’m sure it’s the last thing that Alan Shearer would want as well.

    Shut up!

It’s quite obvious that there have been punctuality problems otherwise Shearer wouldn’t implement these rules!

    That’s the evidence.

stuart well out of order. Are you saying that like many of us out there that have to leave home for 7am get home for 7pm to pay these tossers there wages to serve up this s**t for the season cant make 10.
I am sorry but it is not just our players it is the prem in general, drogba yesterday rolling around like a prat, barton a thug who still has a well paid job, gerrad a pub brawler who gets a slap on the wrist, ronaldo crashing at high speed and just gets a ticking off!
I am tired of these premodonna’s.
I am lossing repect for them each day and I will boo each and everyone that desirves it because I can not afford to keep wasting my hard earned cash on these lossers. I have alreadyspent over a grand following these prats this season. (what most make in just over one hour!)

Maybe, but not in this case IMO. Do you really think that constantly vilifying the players is going to be helpful in a relegation battle? Do you think it’s going to help them with their confidence problems, which are obvious at the moment?

We don’t need an organised hate campaign against the players, we don’t need booing at SJP. Especially so when we don’t even know what we’re talking about. Ed certainly doesn’t in this case. Alot of it is just lifted from the gutter press.

    Aye man,
we collectively need to put all this crap to bed right now & just get on with supportin’ the team, as i’ve said many times…

…Confidence builds from the stands to the pitch to the stands!..

…We’re in a relagation scrap for our premiership lives!..

…No team stays up with bad/misguided support or lack thereof!..
…We need to save our issues with players, coaches, owners, each other & other fans ’til the fat buer sings!..

    …Ho’way!..

We have to cut the team a bit of slack Beye. Hopeless as they are at this point, we must get behind them, not vilify them. Leave the discipline to AS.
