Shearer Not Worried By Chelsea Or Manchester United

Newcastle have been given a chance to recover from the threat of relegation, essentially by their own efforts, since a win at home against Middlesbrough on Monday night will see us 4th from bottom, with just two league games to play.

Alex Ferguson – Manchester United should be able to handle Hull

And it appears that Alan Shearer has looked at all the remaining fixtures of  all relegation sides, and he is well aware that Manchester United play at the KC Stadium on the last day of the season, just 3 days before they play Barcelona in the European Champions League Cup Final.

Burt Alan is convinced the World Club Champions will still get a result at the KC Stadium, which could yet save Newcastle.

Shearer is also not worried that Chelsea will be putting out an under strength team when they face Sunderland on the last day of the season at The Stadium Of Light, ahead of the FA Cup final six days later:

“I am aware of the fixtures on the last day of the season. I was aware of it when the goal went in against Chelsea against Barcelona,”

“You’re looking at everything – results of other teams, who they have to play, everyone is exactly the same. Nobody knows where teams will pick up or drop points.”

“I have looked at every scenario.” “So, I’m aware that Manchester United play in Rome on the Wednesday. But Sir Alex Ferguson has enough players in his squad.”

“One of his weakened teams is probably better than anyone else.” “Yes, Chelsea have the cup final after their final game. But Chelsea have enough to worry about on their plate.”

And in any case, shouldn’t we be doing something to help ourselves, which we have hardly done over the last four months?  Newcastle should be starting that on Monday night, and if we can get two wins in our next two home games, we should be fine.

We should also be concentrating on beating Aston Villa at Villa Park on that day, when all fixtures start at 4:00 pm, so the Hull City and Sunderland results will be irrelevant.

We need to seal our own fate and that by winning on Monday.
For goodness sake if we canny win at home with a packed house against BORO then we deserve to go doon.

Thats my concern too, if Man U has nothing to play for in their final game, i would expect them to rest many, if not all of their first team players.
