If We Are To Go Down – Let’s Go Down Fighting!

There will be all kinds of comments from the Newcastle players this week about how we are still able to survive. Just like there was last week.

alan-shearer-1392106c1

Alan Shearer – don’t turn up if your heart is not 100% for this club

We’re not criticizing that, because the players give interviews as part of their jobs, and that’s just normal.

However, on Sunday – as a Newcastle fan of 60 years, we speak for Newcastle fans everywhere, when we ask every single player who has the honor of wearing the famous Newcastle United black and white shirt on Sunday at Villa Park – to give it all you’ve got and then some.

We want to see every player giving their absolute all in this game, and we don’t want to see any of our players having a terrible game, when this game is so important.

This game is just too important in Newcastle’s history  for that.

Quite honestly, if  the players give all they’ve got on Sunday, like we did at Middlesbrough, and we still don’t survive, it will not be so difficult to accept the tragedy of relegation.

What will make us hit the roof however, is if we get another heartless and listless display, that we’ve witnessed from our players far too many times this season.

They need to go out there on Sunday and give it all they have, and if any player is not willing or able to to do that – then they need to let Alan know.

Shearer will no doubt leave those players out of this game, and then sell them in the summer.

But whatever happens on Sunday, we hope Alan will launch a clear-out of those players who  have  shown insufficient heart and guts for Newcastle United this season, and we’re sure Alan will oblige.

I can’t see us winning I’m afraid, possibly a draw? Without Bassong or Beye it will be a surprise if we manage that. Ah well, Sundays going to be interesting to say the least.

Also – can we ignore benny toon on this post, the guy clearly has far too much spare time on his hands. (or no job? 😉 )

I think we should pick nile ranger , what have we got to lose , he may be a hero , we NEED A HERO , and some inspired performances from our midfield. once it was a privilege to put on the black and white stripes. the trouble is alltoo many are just here to pick up the cheque.

If we had performance related pay a lot of players would OWE us this season !

We need a Churchill speech from Shearer and each and every man woman and child to do their duty for queen , country and ST JAMES.s !!!

What do we have to lose?? Our Premiership status! I’m a fan of our youngsters, but I would have Martins or Carroll ahead of Ranger because they have proven they can score. Martins especially has the ability to score exceptional goals, and should start with Viduka.

I wish I could address the players, myself. I feel like we’re in the World Cup finals here… a win at Villa and we’re almost CERTAINLY safe (can’t see boro beating Man U even with a second string team). A draw and a boro loss would probably see us stay up on goal differential. We need a win, though, boys. C’mon, how hard can it be??? Just look at the Battle of Britain. You Englishmen were outgunned, outclassed, outnumbered, and out-everything elsed. And yet your pilots showed so much determination and heart and courage up there. You WON despite the most overwhelming odds. These things can happen, and if we win on Sunday, I’ll be writing stories and singing songs to commemorate one of the greatest victories of our times.

Is it not Hull playing Man Utd?

Lets just hope we don’t have any more poor decisions go against us on Sunday, we can’t afford it as the team aren’t good enough to make up for it. Shame.

William Hill are offering exactly the same odds that we’ll beat/draw/loose at villa as they are for Hull entertaining United. That makes me feel sick! 6/5 a villa/united win. 13/8 a newcastle/hull win, surely we have more chance of beating villa than hull have of beating united! Even if he fields a ‘weakened’ team…

That is pretty sickening DevonMag – I’ve been pretty shocked by our win odds all season. We were 14/1 to win at Anfield, that’s ENORMOUS!

…mackems are in a pretty tight game at Pompey at the moment btw. Jones hit the post and they cleared a Crouch shot off the line. nil nil at HT. Could do with them losing too. Imagine if we stayed up and the filth went down……………………….

………er, yeah, bit of a long shot.

Completely off topic, but does it do anyone elses head in that both Portsmouth’s goals are built on small ‘hills’?

I for one never thought it would come to this, but theres still a chance.
Couldnt think of anything more gut wrenching however than one of those all to familiar powder puff performances ,especially if its to be our final game in the premiership for a while.

has knowone forgotten Chelsea’s game against SAFC

did you see the team Chelsea put out at Blackburn even when Man U had won the title.

even if SAFC get a point tonight, if we beat Villa and SAFC lose to Chelsea we stay upso dont just rely on Fergie!

shearer may in time prove to be a good manager , what it does show is that i’m sorry but shearer can’t inspire a load of misfirers on the pitch , unfortuneately he needs to be on the pitch not off it ….
