Steven Taylor is 99% Geordie, having been born in Greenwich, and moving to Whitley Bay when he was just 2 weeks old, and yes he will upset about the 99% piece. 😀
Steven Taylor – we can survive
But having been brought up supporting Newcastle United, and being a ball boy during the Kevin Keegan era, he knows all about the Newcastle club, and what it means to the fans to survive tomorrow afternoon at Villa Park.
He told the Evening Chronicle today:
“There is no reason why we cannot do it.” “Some people think it is not possible, but they can think whatever they want. We are the ones who can make the difference.”
“No matter who plays, they will give it everything in the tank. We have beaten Aston Villa already this season.”
“So, with the right team belief – like we showed against Middlesbrough – we will be OK.”
“We want to send the fans away from Villa Park happy.” “We want them to go away for the summer and have a Premier League team to come back to.”
“They have been brilliant all season. They mean so much to us and we want to give them something back.”
And the nonsense that was written about Manchester United fielding a weakened team at Hull City tomorrow is an insult to Alex Ferguson, and just that – complete nonsense.
The Academy product added:
“No matter what teams Chelsea and Manchester United play, they will want to win.”
“They will want to finish the season in style.” “Like all footballers, they will want to claim three points.”
“No matter if you are just coming through the ranks or an experienced professional, you win for pride.”
Steven is so right with those words.
We noticed the Evening Chronicle reported today that Steven was born in Whitley Bay – you would expect that local papers would get it right, wouldn’t you?
We understand they even get paid for writing their articles. Can somebody please enlighten Lee Ryder at the Evening Chronicle.
