Mike Ashley Needs To Speak To Newcastle Fans

Mike Ashley now looks like the real villain in all of this, as he took a perfectly good side, and must have worked really hard, because in a short 9 months we went from having a good start to the season, to being a pathetic football team and relegated.

This picture will give Newcastle fans nightmares for years to come

We were giving plenty of chances by the other relegation sides who were just hopeless – like Hull City – but we were even worse. In fact Hull and Sunderland did their very best to keep Newcastle up – only Newcastle didn’t.

Let’s be honest – we deserved to be relegated on our form and the results.

We don’t know if Ashley plans to keep the club, but the bid from US and Middle East investors could now look very attractive.

But if he is planning on staying he better lock himself away with Alan Shearer – or whoever else he wants as manager – hatch out a detailed plan, with investments needed, decide which players to sell – and then have a news conference – not just a press release.

The good news is that all the players we’ll sell, we’ll hardly miss any except maybe Bassong and Martins, and we’ll save tremendously on the wages.

We want to hear what Derek Llambias has to say on behalf of the club, and how they will work with Alan to get the club back on track. They need to start – and keep – talking to their customers – the fans – the same fans they have royally screwed this season.

To say we’ll come back up next season will be the party line, but as John Hall said this morning that will be more difficult than it looks, and we think that’s true.

And there are other people we are annoyed at and who have some responsibility in this.

All the players , especially Michael Owen, our captain who went missing at the start of the war, and was hardly ever seen again. He’s never said a word to the prss for weeks about Newcastle’s plight.

His £1.3M/goal it has cost Newcastle for his 30 goals is an absolute disgrace for the former Liverpool star. He did nothing for Newcatsle in his 4 years here – but he’ll be off making the best deal he can with some other sucker club.

He’ll be run out of Toon as the player who epitomized Newcastle ‘s overpaid and over-pampered “stars” with no guts – no guts at all.  And heaven help it if he ever plays at St. James’ Park again, because he’ll be booed every time he gets the ball.  In fact I’ll make the trip over form the US to give him a personal boo from myself. 😀

Michael may be lucky that Newcastle don’t get promoted before he retires form the game.

Let’s make this absolutely clear – Michael Owen has been hopeless this season for Newcastle – whatever people will say in his defense.

And lastly we still don’t absolve Kevin Keegan of responsibility in all of this, because he walked out on the club, whether he had good reason to or not – he was not sacked.

If Kevin hadn’t done that, we’d hardly be a Championship club now – but hey he loves Newcastle – so that’s OK we suppose, as he tries to get his £8M from Newcastle in compensation.

Compensation for walking out on Newcastle – who eventually get relegated – well this is football and not the real world, after all.

Best of luck with that one, Kevin.

But the worst thing is that the Newcastle club has taken a big black eye to it’s image as a football club, and how many years that will take to repair is anybody’s guess.

Apologize is the least that fat man should do! He should give himself a spanking and sell Newcastle.

Why would our Mickey Mouse Chairman Derek Llambias say anything now, he has singulary failed to say anything for the weeks leading up to today.

there is something very wrong with the structure of this club very long ago…

few seasons ago.. newcastle was at least known for its strong home record and attacking prowess..

this season, we CANT defend (ok, that’s usual) and we can’t score..

NOTHING WAS DONE.. throughout the season…

our central midfield lacks a dictator and someone who could hold the ball.

After the 1st 2 attempts by Martin and Duff today. The whole team went into oblivion. Nothing was happening.

    PLayers running like headless chicken..

My heart is so painful now as if it’s been pierced..

more hurtful is that we deserve this.. absolutely

WE WILL BE BACK… its time for a total overhaul

    Sad day for NUFC.

Feel really sorry for all the fans that travelled and that have followed the Toon Army over teh last few seasons. You are a credit lads.

Wholesale changes are needed beginning with mike ashley selling up. We also must make sure we have a big enough squad because we will be playing a hell of alot more matches next season.

I really disagree with laying this at Keegans feet. If anything He has been proved right.

Ashley and Wise tried to tear the team apart while hiding behind Keegans name. Milner is the best example of this.

The games between Keegan and Shearer killed our season make no mistake.

Please lets us start next season with FFS and Shearer or Keegan.

I am still very upset about the result and I don’t know what to do now.

Since I am an oversea based fan, Championship for the toon means nothing for me from next season on. Well, hopefully I will still be able to watch 1 or 2 games if we have a good run in the cups…

OMG this is so unreal…A life without NUFC in action even on TV? I trully hate MA…

This is my first post and thanks ed for a great website-the best for NUFC.
I have to disagree with you about KK though. He is a man of principles and stood up to MA because he could see where his (MA’s) strategy was leading us (the CCC). We need a strong leader who knows football and NUFC- like KK or AS, not a bunch of so called businessmen to run this club. Maybe owners should have to pass a few badges too! It’s not like any other business especially here. These special KK or AS people need at least 90%control of things like transfer dealings to sort things out. I hope AS stays on with some help from a tactician. As he saw the holes in our squad like all of us, and shame on the ones in charge (and too many of them) saw fit to build and alter a squad in all the wrong ways through numerous transfer windows. I mean 1 true LB and RB in a club with a massive wage structure ? I can understand the frustrations of people like Shay, who would have dearly loved to stay at this club, if it weren’t run by headless chickens. In short too many people at the top making bad decisions. But now it’s too late we are a CCC side, with a bunch of overpaid so-called stars. What we need is a new owner, AS at the helm and a good clear out. I just hope we can hang on to our promising youngsters and people who love and understand the club like ST. One final point- I was really disappointed with Bassong’s comments after a great season, but it just underlines the need for local talent in the squad.

He needs to offer shearer a permenant deal, then he should admit mistakes have been made & we have learnt a harsh lesson from them. We just need to hope & pray all these youngsters in resrves have what it takes to get reults in the championship. How we would all rejoice at a fat fred takeover now eh? Blackpool away next season lads & lasses. Huge Piss up! Does anyone else think we’ll be on sky a lot next season as they do show championship quite a bit.

Time to get hopeful now, this shower of sh*te season is finally over.

New times, new players, get rid of the crap & we might even win some games next season. Atleast we’re far more likely to enjoy some success now.

Have to keep shearer in charge though.

The deadwood will go, and we’ll be able to travel away to places like Blackpool and not fear a thrashin and have a gd day out. Huge credit to Ed for the blog, real shame its finishing. Dont know any other blogs to be onest, wonder where everyone will end up, anyone have any ideas of another? Keep the faith lads

I said this morning on another blog we needed a miracle to avoid the drop’ I still don’t understand that Alan took off Viduka & replaced him with the Donkey (Shola) He was waste of time. I am afraid Edgar is not good enough for Newcastle United he was terrible.
The men who worked their heart outs was Butt & Duff. we had no creative midfielder to supply the strikers.
This is sad day for me, I’ve been supporter for nearly seventy years. The advisors for running this great club of ours want shooting.

I cant see anything to rape and assett strip, Martins maybe, a good season from bassong and beye, taylor newcastle united through and through and Harps long time servant. Who else can make the fat bas***d the estimated 150 – 200 million the club has just depreciated in value. The writing has been on the wall for a long time, lets face it we have played Hull 4 times this season and never beaten them. They stumbled across the line just in front of us.
Butt no longer has the legs although his effort is 100%, Duff makes too many errors and gives the ball away cheaply. Our star striker Shola Ameobi, dont make me laugh, Owen can F**k right off as he gave up in february when he came back from injury, please dont offer him a new contract. Spiderman OK but no end product, Lovenkrands, in my opinion worth a gamble on. Collicini, probably do ok in championship if he isnt sold. Carroll will be a good ccc player as he isnt afraid to put himself about. Viduka goodbye.
