Some Good News At Last For Newcastle

Having looked around for any good news on Newcastle, we are again unable to find any good stuff, so we’ll take another  positive look forward.

Shearer at the final whistle at Villa Park -that’s Guthrie not too happy too

While Mike Ashley dabbles again in selling the club Newcastle, the club continues to burn, and as Alan Shearer said may days ago – with every day gone another room burns – so we’ve lost plenty of rooms since relegation – in fact 12 to be exact.

And one thing that really is rather alarming, is after the club was managed terribly at the higher levels during the season, with mistakes galore being made – not much seems to have changed in the last 2 weeks.

Mike has managed to put a stranglehold on the club so nothing can move forward, and that takes some doing but Mike managed that in one single move last Saturday night, by putting the club up for sale.

Let’s take a look forward over the summer and see what good may come out of it.

  • Alan Shearer signs a contract for 5 years as Newcastle manager and is joined by Dowie, Carver and Rob Lee.
  • Season tickets sales – at a lower price – are sold out within days
  • Newcastle formally announce the contracts of Owen, Viduka and Cacapa will not be renewed
  • The following players are immediately put up for sale
    • Enrique, Coloccini, Geremi, Smith, Gutierrez, Barton, Xisco, Martins
  • Shearer announces that Bassong and Lovenkrands have signed new contracts at the club
    • Both give intereviews saying they are excited about the challenge next season
  • Shearer immediately announces he has signed the following players
    • Danny Sinmpson (Man United), Bradley Orr (Bristol City), David Wheater (Middlesbrough) to shore up the defense
  • Shearer announces a loan deal has been agreed with Spurs to bring in 19 year old Chris Gunter for the season
  • Manager after discussions with Richard Money says that Krul, Forster, Kadar, Vuckic, Tozer, Ranger, LuaLaa and Inman will all get their chance next season
  • Several top Championship players announce they would be interested in joining Newcastle United
  • Several Championship Club managers say Newcastle will be the Manchester United of the Championship (apologies for that one!)
  • An Arab consortium eventually buys Newwcastle for just £90M, and says it will invest heavily to make Newcastle great again

We could go on – but you get our drift.

If just some of those things happened above, we’d be in a lot better spirits than most of us are right now.

But make no mistake, the removal of the log-jam at the club will only come when Alan Shearer is announced manager – and then real excitement and opportunity will replace the  gloom and doom.

We hope so anyway. 😀

The thing strangling the club is Barclays and the wait for them to approve our new business plan, the sale of the club will have little effect on Shearer becoming manager or him having money to spend.

All of those would indeed be good news, and also getting some of those top championship players!

Ed, I doubt we would need 4 RB’s at the club and no LB.

Almost every team Ian Dowie was involved got relegated.

I wonder if Alan Irvine from Preston would accept Dowie’s role.

    Imagine the duo….Double Al 🙂

Can’t see why so many people are so keen to sign Wheater, looks a bit of a carthorse to me. I reckon we already have better players on our books. Didn’t exactly shine in the Boro defence this season.

Just curious but does anyone else see that the players Ed has put forward would be plain stupid if we signed them all.

Seeing as they are all right backs except Wheater, singing Simpson, Orr, Gunter when we already have Beye and Ryan Taylor, if Beye moves inside to centre half and we get rid of Taylor, we would still only need two.

I just cant believe the state we are in It might not be as bad if we knew what was happening but i dont think that will change you get no info from the official site They still havent even thought it was important to tell us that we are for sale.

“Almost every team Ian Dowie was involved got relegated.”

Dowie is part of the deal with Shearer Partizan. Pep Guardiola has Johann Cruyff as his mentor, Wor Al has Dowie.

Like i said,he can find a buyer today if he wants.
He wants to sell our most valuable players first and then he’ll sell it in no time.

That would be pointless, Partizan. The club would only be worth less if it had less valuable assets.

good article though ed, why does everyone rate wheater, i think he is slow and very prone to mistakes, i would prefer huth or pogatetz to him

I thought we’d found a buyer, or atleast SOMEthing! Haha. I dont particularly rate wheater, tbh. Capello does so I guess that says something. Tbh I dont rate anyone in the borough team apart from the obvious Downing, tuncay Johnson and Oneil. They’re such a boring side they’re mid table mediocrity at their ultimate best. IMO a team that doesn’t challenge for anything deserves to get relegated as the bring nothing to the epl. We deserved to get relegated for different reasons. Hopefully we’ll bounce back for the right ones mate

Once the buyer is found it can take up to another 8 weeks for them to do due diligence !!
