Ashley Continues To Put Newcastle Future At Risk

Alan Shearer has got to be frustrated at Ashley’s lack of understanding of the situation he has put Newcastle in, and that preparations for next season are being seriously impacted with every day that passes with nobody in control at Newcastle.

Alan Shearer – must be frustrated at no progress at Newcastle

How this guy Ashley made a billion we have no idea – did he win a few lotteries?

Most managers and senior club personnel from the Championship clubs will be back this week, so watch out for some transfer deals to start being done by these clubs, which will not include Newcastle unfortunately, because we haven’t go our act together at all.

That’s not going to happen until owner Ashley wakes up, or is woken up by Newcastle fans and other players and former managers attached to the club.

But there may also be an increasing apathy about the club, as it continues in its free-fall, and we have to hope for the good of our club the new owner and manager, whoever they may be, have some time before the season starts.

We need to get some players in, have some pre-season practice games, and get some decent coaching in, before our first game of the Championship starts on August 8th. That’s  54 days away – just over 7 weeks – which is not too long at all.

And we thought things were bad 3 weeks ago when we were relegated?

The next two weeks will be crucial because if something doesn’t materialize quickly we’ll have the embarrassment of having players we don’t want, return to the club, because they have not yet been sold, and are still Newcastle players.

The only players who will not be returning are those whose contracts have run out — Michael Owen (was he our captain?), Mark Viduka (tried his very best in the last few games), Claudio Cacapa (invisible all last season but still picked up £50K/week) and David Edgar (we would have liked to have kept this lad, especially if Bassong moves on).

With so little good news around for the club, we may be forced into another of our this could happen pieces, where we look at things that could indeed happen in the next few weeks- on the positive side.

Let’s hope there’s some real good news before we are forced into one of those stories.

Everything come worst to worst for us, I don’t know why. Mike Ashley has many choices to solve the problem but he never make it true.

The unknown is what is causing us all to be on edge with events at NUFC.

We have not had one direct quote or interview piece from Shearer since before his holiday away the other week.

I can only speculate that something is going on and due to the sale all mouths are sealed.

Im concerned that no one is running the ship until such time that we know what is happening.

Christ if Llambias lost his car and didnt know owt about it – what chances have we about the team.

Was probably a parting shot from one of the staff who got made redundant – if so revenge is sweet.

Don’t know if it’s just my feed or what, but your articles aren’t appearing on Newsnow today Ed.

I also notice that your banner is new on the homepage, but still the old one on the articles.

Take it you may have had an upgrade or something this weekend?

Well there is nowt exciting in the chronicle.

You would think that someone within Barrack road would have the balls to stand up and ask what is going on about pre-season friendlies and training etc and for something to be sorted.

    We are a joke!

Right, i’m sick to the teeth of this criticism of Ashley. Yes, I want the dam club to be sold, get new owners in and appoint Shearer, but it does NOT happen overnight for god’s sake!

It’s not like we’re just selling a cheese pasty to someone, it is a sale consisting of millions, many jobs, and various other things needing to be taken into consideration.

One thing’s for sure, this club will be sold in time for next season, so in the mean time can we not just try to concentrate on something positive?

    We’re a mess but there’s something happening , I can feel it.
Ashley, Llambias and Shearer aren’t just sitting on their arses either.

Peter is still interested in joining us it seems 🙂

Dan4toon, i’m definitely looking forward to seeing our youth progress next season – They’ll have more of a chance.

However, what worries me more than anything is our squad size. People say, oh just get rid of him him and him. But if we get rid of this 15 players on 50K+, then are we even left with anyone? haha.

Ashley has got to get a move on. We are like a drunk staggering down the road. We are being “run” from an office in London which is not hands on to me. We are missing out on some signings – e.g., Skeljbred (?) it seems and possible Beckford. I still think the FA should say something to these buffoons making us into a laughing stock. They certainly had things to say about Barton but let Ashley wreck a club and remain silent. Asley and Co ARE bringing the game into disrepute!

Ed this is Newcastle United we are talking about. If you produced 10 threads saying ‘this could happen’ it will still be something else!

@Fraid I’ve got to take exception to the way the press are ridiculing Newcastle Unites as a laughing stock.

The club’s name is the subject of ridicule and it aint the locally based poor sods who are trying to do what they can that are responsible for the present mess – it’s Ashley who’s pulling the strings and calling the shots and surely it’s he the press should be poking fun at.

It’s the fans, the local ones and the expats like me who are subject to the jibes and the way to deal with it is to agree it’s a mess but point out that it’s Ashley who’s dragged the club to its knees.

I’ve noticed that of late, that a lot of football fans are beginning to symapthise with the newcastle supporters for the situation they’ve been placed in.

Keep your chins up lads and lasses.

Ashley should make Shearer the manager and make it plain he is part of the package to prospective buyers. If prospective buyers do not want Al then they can look elsewhere to invest their money. That way NUFC will be viable and reasonably stable for the new campaign. You know it makes sense Ashley – get your finger out of Lambi’s arse!

What if none of the potential buyers want Shearer?

Portsmouth haven’t got a manager either btw which is frustrating for their players too, it’s just what both sets of fans have to put up with when the club is in the process of being bought out.

No news is good news unless your a Toon fan.Should’nt expect anything else we’ve only had two (I’m sorry notes ) from Ashley and two (that story is rubbish) from Llambias in the time they have been running things. The news I dread most is that they have taken it off the market. Its funny everybody that gets involved is struck dumb. They don’t even say that they have nothing to report .Strange lot! The longer it goes on the further down we go but we all know that. Pity they don’t seem to.
