Yes, things are in a a terrible shape right now at Newcastle United, but the good news is that within a short 10 days or so, we could have a new owner, and we’ll be doing a story later today on the type of owner we need, and hope we get at the club.
Alan Shearer – ready to make big difference at Newcastle
And once the new owner is identified, we should have Alan Shearer as the new Newcastle manager, and face of the club – and that cannot be bad.
Once that happens we think the Newcastle fans can emerge from the nightmare that we’ve all been put through by the current owner, and we can start supporting the lads again, and hope the team can very quickly restore the pride and passion that is the Newcastle United Football club.
While we may have low gates to start the season, Newcastle fans will look for the slightest reason to start supporting the team big time again, and we have to hope we start to get a few wins in August, so we get off to an excellent start to the season.
We’ll still need to unload a lot of players in the summer, maybe as many as 10 or more, but we find it hard to believe we’ll be able to unload them all.
We would like to be able to keep at least Oba Martins and Kevin Nolan, who fought well for the cause at the end of last season, and we hope we will be able to afford them.
But whoever Alan brings in will need to want to play for the club, whether the wages are high or low, and that must be the number one priority for any players arriving on Tyneside form now on.
Once Alan is installed as manager, we look forward to his first press conference, and maybe he can do a radio talk-in show, to allow fans to better understand what plans he has for the club – and that would also assist the Newcastle faithful to forget all about a certain Mike Ashley.
While things have been worse than terrible over the last 4 weeks, since we were relegated, the era of Mike Ashley and his disastrous tenure at the famous Newcastle United club, is almost at an end, and that in itself, has to be very good news to be celebrated by the long (very long) suffering Newcastle faithful.
It’s the least they deserve.
