Ashley Nightmare Almost Over For Newcastle Fans

Yes, things are in a a terrible shape right now at Newcastle United, but the good news is that within a short 10 days or so, we could have a new owner, and we’ll be doing a story later today on the type of owner we need, and hope we get at the club.

Alan Shearer – ready to make big difference at Newcastle

And once the new owner is identified, we should have Alan Shearer as the new Newcastle manager, and face of the club – and that cannot be bad.

Once that happens we think the Newcastle fans can emerge from the nightmare that we’ve all been put through by the current owner, and we can start supporting the lads again, and hope the team can very quickly restore the pride and passion that is the Newcastle United Football club.

While we may have low gates to start the season, Newcastle fans will look for the slightest reason to start supporting the team big time again, and we have to hope we start to get a few wins in August, so we get off to an excellent start to the season.

We’ll still need to unload a lot of players in the summer, maybe as many as 10 or more, but we find it hard to believe we’ll be able to unload them all.

We would like to be able to keep at least Oba Martins and Kevin Nolan, who fought well for the cause at the end of last season, and we hope we will be able to afford them.

But whoever Alan brings in will need to want to play for the club, whether the wages are high or low, and that must be the number one priority for any players arriving on Tyneside form now on.

Once Alan is installed as manager, we look forward to his first press conference, and maybe he can do a radio talk-in show, to allow fans to better understand what plans he has for the club – and that would also assist the Newcastle faithful to forget all about a certain Mike Ashley.

While things have been worse than terrible over the last 4 weeks, since we were relegated, the era of Mike Ashley and his disastrous tenure at the famous Newcastle United club, is almost at an end, and that in itself,  has to be very good news to be celebrated by the long (very long) suffering Newcastle faithful.

It’s the least they deserve.

Comments welcome.

“Newcastle fans will look for the slightest reason to start supporting the team big time again” – should we need a reason?

    Well said Rangerman.

We should have all learnt our lesson after Mike Ashley.

I am bordering on giving up, this club is in ruin and we are running on quick sand at the moment.

Everyday I wake up, and no news. I get back from work, no news, before bedtime, no news.

I cannot take it over here in Australia, I do not know how you guys in Newcastle, being so close can handle it.

Ed has written the same type of article about 1500 times, no fault of Ed’s of course as what else is there to write about (keep up the good work Ed, for a Newcastle starved Aussie it is the lifeblood of my news) when are things going to happen? Where is Shearer and why isn’t he saying anything? What about the players?

    I’m confused and tired….

sorry ed but the nightmare does not look like ending anytime soon.

there are only rumors that we have received an offer………there are also rumors that ashley is trying to get an extra £15m to cover the money he spent on transfers !!!!!!!!

so from where i am sitting we are just as close to a new owner as we are ashley putting the club into administration

Even if Shepherd isn’t in the running he wouldn’t come out and say that straight away, he a bit of a publicity whore.

Well these are the aspects I want in a new owner.

    – First I want them to COMMUNICATE their intentions with the supporters (income) and let us know what their plan is in detail not just (to make us good again).
    – Secondly, I want them to be professional and place a salary cap at the club based on our financial state.
    – Thirdly, I want to to appoint a chairman who has patience and demands attractive football – after all fans money and football is played as entertainment!!!! When last were we entertained!
    – Finally, I want them to invest wisely in youthful players like Sir Bobby did.

    Yes you are right….

When he had Mort as chairman and Keegan as manager…
Ie. Mort – great communicator = great chairman because he had a “relationship” with the fans just like any good businessman have a “relationship” with the customer.
And Keegan who was Ashleys choice and a popular one at that!

And then in came Wise, and the “silence of the Llambias” and everything revolving the club became a state secret.
Even to the point where Keegan was seen on camera asking someone if he could respond to a comment from the media…

It all looked so promising until Wise and Llambias came in… and thats whe we have snowballed from initial poor relations to utter distrust and almost hatred…

Thats why I cant defend Ashley – its no good beginning things on the perfect note and then destroying them with a change of game plan later on…

    Oh yes, one more thing…

Who ever is our next manager… please please please can you explain to me how on earth Ameobi has managed to stay in the first team squad under 5 different managers (besides Keegan)… Because really… why is it that 95% of the population is dumbfounded that he can pass as a professional footballer yet he still gets picked?
He can run, he cant finish, he cant header, he cant hold the ball up, he cant pass, he can do anything?!? What does he have on the club????

‘While we may have low gates to start the season, Newcastle fans will look for the slightest reason to start supporting the team big time again’

Ed why should we have low gates. We keep telling ourselves we’re the best supporters in the world so surely you’re not suggesting that some won’t bother turning up just because we’re in the championship? Best supporters in the world don’t do that they keep supporting their team through bad and even worse times they don’t start going to the metro centre instead.

I thought if all the buyers wanted Shearer it would have been anounced. Maybe he isnt coming, maybe King Kev may return – maybe not too
