We like Kevin Nolan and think he is the type of player we’d like to see the club keep next season, to help us get straight back to the Premier League.

Kevin Nolan - fans need to be repaid
But that’s not to say Kevin played well for us this year since being signed by Bolton, as he was disappointing like most of the Newcastle squad.
But to be fair to the Liverpudlian it wasn’t exactly an easy time to come into the club, which was all at sea, as it still is in fact.
The former Bolton Wanderers captain has been linked recently with a move to Hull City, but his agent has said he only wants to stay at Newcastle to help them back to where the club belongs – back in the Premier League.
Nolan also believes the players have to pay back the fans after the tragedies of last season, as he talked to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle yesterday:
“I am fed up of reading about them, because they are that good.” “That is not a nasty thing saying it, it is just because you don’t even have to mention it.”
“You know how fantastic they are. They supported us throughout – they were absolutely brilliant (last season).” “I have no problems with them.”
“They have been behind us even in games where we have been in a bit of a sticky situation.”
It looks like Newcastle remain a big draw for players, and apparently there are several players who are only too willing to come to the club, once Shearer is installed (if he is installed) as the new manager under the new owners, whoever they may be.
Still quite a bit of uncertainty on the Newcastle future, even now.
Kevin went on:
“As soon as people know you play for Newcastle, they want to talk about the fans and the stadium. That just comes naturally.”
Newcastle players will travel to Dublin tonight, where they will stay in the Ireland capital ahead of next Saturday’s game with Shamrock Rovers.
The manager of Shamrock Rovers, Michael O’Neill said:
“It is a great game for us, and one everybody in Dublin will be building up towards it for the week.”
It seems surprising that we’ll be playing our first game soon, with so much uncertainty still surrounding the Newcastle club, but maybe that will all have changed before next Saturday.
We’ll have to hope that is the case, for the good of the club.
Howay The Lads!!

beye – I think its been written by Ed from his chateau on the suburbs of Paris … can’t leave work behind …
I wouldn’t mind nolan staying, but I think like oba his wages may be a problem for a new owner who wishes to steady the ship.
Might pop over to ireland next saturday and welcome the new manager …!!!???!!!

I think if nolan gets a good pre season behind him he’ll be a beast in the CCC. He looked like he was carrying more weight last season than he had been in his previous Bolton days. I think him & guthrie could turn out to be fantastic mid pairing next season. Butt will help with his experience but i’d like to see this side nexy season:
=========Harper========
Beye==SCampbell=Taylor=Kadar=
Lua==Guthrie==Nolan==Duff===
====Carroll/Evans==FCampbell/Ranger=
Think that side will get us up easy! Along with playing attacking exciting footy.

Wigaz,
Your midfield is awful, there is no flair or creativity.
We are desperate for a ball playing midfielder,
who????

TGS i think they’ll be better in this league tho mate. Mind you I wouldn’t mind putting Gibson from Man U in there alongside guthrie. Think he could deliver what your looking for mate? he’s got a good range of passing & has an eye for goal with a terrific strike. To be fair to nolan we aint seen him in this league nor guthrie so maybe they’ll surprise you.

Interesting comment by Glen Roeder today about Owen, he said even Ronaldo wouldnt score at Newcastle as the midfield lacked both width and creativity, well thank you Glen for stating what the fans have known for the past season. How the hell did the management not also see this and do something about it, Butt Nolan Duff Guthrie are all plodders, too slow, have no creativity and are a minimal goal threat. JFK has a nerve to say he would have kept us up, with that midfield, no chance you wassock.

I think who ever the new manager is, when he’s elected will have his own idea’s as to who he wants to bring in & get rid of
As for Nolan, Duff, Butt, Jonas, Barton, Smith etc, they are all too old for the New Look TOON!!!
