Great Time For Newcastle Youngsters To Show Through

Its a great opportunity at Newcastle now for some of our terrific youngsters to stake a claim for a first team position for Saturday’s first game at WBA.

19 year-old Tamas Kadar – Hungarian likely to start at WBA

Hughton told the Evening Chronicle today:

“People like Tamas (Kadar) and Kaz (LuaLua) have both come through lately and there is no reason for others not to follow suit.”

“It’s an opportunity for them.” “Tamas had a good game at Dundee while Kaz has enjoyed more pitch-time, which is good for him.”

“Kaz is very much part of the first-team squad this season.” “He isn’t in the senior locker room but I regard him as a first teamer.”

“I see him as part of the senior group.”

And fed up defender Sebastien Bassong won’t play in the Reserves game tonight with Blyth at Croft Park, despite being very short of match fitness.

Hughton continued:

“There won’t be any senior lads playing in this one tonight.”

“I have to assess a few options with Saturday in mind with players but we will be fielding young players.”

“It is a reserve team fixture but it is a great chance for people to catch the eye.”

Chris and his assistant boss Colin Calderwood will be in the stands for the game with Blyth, and gate receipts will be donated to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation in a terrific gesture.

That’s really good to see.

Kadar and Lua Lua look the best bet so far although Vukic could also make the bench – Bassong, Beye, Xisco and Collocini are history for me

Just been reading the Independant…. this seems to make alot of sense and shows that Mike Ashley is not as daft as he is making out…

‘Alan Shearer, meanwhile, awaits a response from the banks to Ashley’s request for the continuation of a £40m working capital facility. That would enable Ashley to appoint Shearer on a permanent basis, if he wants to.

Shearer could be given a long-term contract with the necessary clauses in the event of a takeover. That would give Newcastle some stability and Shearer could start working on lifting the club back into the Premier League following their relegation. He could also focus on trying to retain some of the players he sees as being key to the club’s future.’

I’ll put the link in where I got this from shortly

jermaine beckford is actually 11/10 to join west brom now, which is the same odds as he is to stay at leeds. we are now 8/1, but thats no suprise considering its pretty obvious we wont be signing any players this transfer window!!

Hey, why not try the youngsters. Couldn’t do any worse than some of the so-called first team and will at least work for the cause.

The Times are reporting that the Dark Lord is considering staying’in charge’ http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/newcastle/article6739474.ece
He needs a few wmpty stadiums to show that he is on to a loser if he thinks we will come and support ‘his’ team
