Its a great opportunity at Newcastle now for some of our terrific youngsters to stake a claim for a first team position for Saturday’s first game at WBA.
19 year-old Tamas Kadar – Hungarian likely to start at WBA
Hughton told the Evening Chronicle today:
“People like Tamas (Kadar) and Kaz (LuaLua) have both come through lately and there is no reason for others not to follow suit.”
“It’s an opportunity for them.” “Tamas had a good game at Dundee while Kaz has enjoyed more pitch-time, which is good for him.”
“Kaz is very much part of the first-team squad this season.” “He isn’t in the senior locker room but I regard him as a first teamer.”
“I see him as part of the senior group.”
And fed up defender Sebastien Bassong won’t play in the Reserves game tonight with Blyth at Croft Park, despite being very short of match fitness.
“There won’t be any senior lads playing in this one tonight.”
“I have to assess a few options with Saturday in mind with players but we will be fielding young players.”
“It is a reserve team fixture but it is a great chance for people to catch the eye.”
Chris and his assistant boss Colin Calderwood will be in the stands for the game with Blyth, and gate receipts will be donated to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation in a terrific gesture.
That’s really good to see.
