In these very dire times for the Newcastle United Football club, at least the fans are doing all they can to support the lads, and that’s just fantastic to see.
This is Newcastle United Football Club
The lads will have the backing of a sold-out away end for Saturday’s season-opener at West Bromwich Albion and the Hawthorns.
The Newcastle fans, as faithful as ever, have snapped up the few remaining tickets of their 2,700 allocation for the televised clash at The Hawthorns, which has 5:30 pm kick off time this Saturday.
Newcastle, when some would think the support would be dying away, have seen really magnificent support from their fans in the pre-season, and it warms the heart to see the lads being so well supported, when the club is facing so many problems.
Stand-in boss Chris Hughton, who is also doing his level best in a very bad situation, told the Newcastle official site today:
“We can’t thank the fans enough for their support in recent weeks.”
“The players appreciate that backing and hope that, when the season starts, they can give them something to shout about.”
The support has been phenomenal and its in these bad times when the character of the fans really shines through. We thank the brave lads and lasses who are supporting the team right now. With support like this, surely success on the field cannot be that far away, but yes, there’s a definite hope in those words, to be sure. 😀
Hey, the players are very appreciative and maybe they can even give us a win on Saturday – that would be something great to celebrate, after all the misery we’ve been through this year.
Here’s hoping.
Howay The Lads!!

Is that you main aim in life, to be the first on every blog that Ed posts??
What a sad exsistance you must lead, don’t you have a gf or wife 😉
It wouldn’t be too bad if you actually posted something of interest, instead of just trying to be 1st!!
Anyway, no doubt the fans will turn up in there thousands week in, week out but no matter how much we support our beloved club, all we’re doing is lining Ashleys pockets with our well earned money!!
I doubt it will make him seel the club any faster but at least we’ll still support the players, even if they can’t be arsed & only turn up for their wages!!

As long as he doesnt need to be first there too.
We will never see him again, like the search for the Holy Grail.

Comment #8Alex – Dean had the highest card count last season with 8 reds and 123 yellows, Barton and co watch out.
Hes a pompous little git but at least he is consistent unlike Webb , Bennett, Riley and worst of all Rob (the Nob) Styles

Comment #12brownrob – I get the Express so saw that this morning. To be honest Mick Dennis hates Newcastle with a vengeance and i think it’s just another excuse to have a go at us. He is a poisonous and spiteful excuse for a human being as far as I am concerned, and this article is in very bad taste. Dyer may have had the odd fall out with Robson, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t like the man or respect him, and I’m sure he’s geuninely saddened that he has passed away. As for the fans, I for one thought Robson was losing the plot a bit near the end in terms of signings and his treatment of certain players, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t appreciate what he did for the club and respect him for the man he was, and like most fans I was very upset to hear that he died.

Thats what im worried about , he throws cards around like confetti . Imagine if our cm is Barton & Smith ( Which it looks like it is going to be)
Then again your right it could be the cnt Styles . That would be worse .

…might seem like a daft question Macas, but why do you buy the Express? 🙂
With reference to that article though, I couldn’t believe the sh1te that Kieron Dyer came out with in his mini-tribute – made me cringe.

Comment #15I like the rest of us are very pessimistic when it comes to the takoever but there could be a positive spin to this.
Why if there is no sale in the pipeline has Ashley not appointed a manager? Even a temp manager. He did that last time didn’t he?
He saw how poor the team were last season when Hughton was in charge and must surely know it will be more of the same this season.
The only common sense reason behind this is that Ashley is under the impression that the sale is immenant.
But then again Common sense, Football and Mike Ashley don’t necessarily go hand in hand……
Just my positive thought iof the day.

Comment #17The whole bottom line here is newcastle will not be sold and anybody else to think we will daft because if they really was anybody going to buy this club it would have been sold weeks ago so dont believe all this crap in the papers they are just makeing alaughing stock out of us and for us to stay up this season we are going to need luck alot of it to be honest i think we will and up like leeds doomed even though i dont like to say it we are ashley wont be able to see the reason being whos going to but a championship team for a £100 million and plus a £164million in dedt no one thats and there is only man that would manager this club and that is shearer but no other manager would touch us with a bargepoll it is simple as that so this is what i dont understand why all the fans still wanting to go to the games as yous all keep lineing ashley pockets and if anyone says that iam not a proper supporter iam not bothered because i no iam i just dont see the point of paying all that money to watch overpaid overated players kick a ball about and to pour loads of money into fat ashley pocket because all we get is lies and more lies so i give and i will only return when we get a new owen which i thinks it might be sometime next christmas if lucky.

Comment #21Looking forward to the WBA game – taking my son down for the match and then off back to Nigeria for work.
Just hope we dont get a bad start, heads go down and we let 6 in, in which case we could be in relegation trouble by November.
Praying for the team to perform as a team, to fight for each other for the full 90 minutes and we have a chance of 3 points which will lift the players and us fans.
The quicker MA gets the sale completed the better we will all be. It WILL happen, keep the faith!!!!

Comment #25Rodzilla.. put your pitchfork down lad. Dyer and SBR always seemed very close. I argue night and day with my lass – don’t mean we aint tight.
The fact dyer’s name is mud on tyneside really narks. He was the lynchpin (when fit) in a smashing SBR CL side…. still yees love an easy target.

Comment #29I hope everyone has their ticket for the Reading game and that it is a 52000 sell out in celebration of Sir Bobby Robson’s life, its time to put aside ownership issues and to show the footballing world what Sir Bobby meant to this region and what the fans are about. Its needs to be a carnival, make sure it is!!!

Comment #31Stuart79. Very true… Houghton is pretty impressively bad – even as a stand-in for a stand-in.
Having said that – Shearer was even worse than Houghton last season and I think Ashley could move to give wor al the job if he can’t sell. So he’s hardly to be trusted.
Heaven forbid Newcastle United ever appoint a suitable manager.

Comment #32Rod, no diamond billionaires mate, but one of the guys I work for can afford to buy the club without using a bank loan to do it. I have been trying to get him interested, but to no avail. Its not his scene and doesnt generate big enough profits for him to get involved!!
Shame really, he’s an ace bloke as well. Will just have to win euromillions this week and take a punt myself lol.

Comment #34Boater, it was just when he was talking about everyone being happy under SBR at SJP when he so obviously wasn’t, and the “too many prima donnas and millionaires” bit. I’d never question the personal relationship between KD and SBR, my remark was more of a pot/kettle thing. But fair comment.

“I hope everyone has their ticket for the Reading game and that it is a 52000 sell out in celebration of Sir Bobby Robson’s life”
So that money from ticket sales in tribute to the memory of SBR will go towards SBR’s cancer trust then? Or into the pockets of our feckless owner?
