Ameobi and Carroll Lead Attack – Barton Substitute

wba-badge nufc-crest

As expected Chris Hughton will play a 4-4-2 formation for the first game of the season at West Brom tonight with Geordie lads Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi lining up in attack. Joey Barton is left out of the starting eleven and is now a substitute, after news that he walked out on the squad last night.
Kevin Nolan will revert back into his central midfield where is joined by captain for the day Alan Smith, with Joey left out.

As expected Damien Duff and Jonas Gutierrez will be working the wings and a back four of Ryan Taylor, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini and Jose Enrique looks fairly strong with Harper of  in goal.

The bench consists of Tim Krul, Tamas Kadar, Geremi, Kazenga LuaLua, Joey Barton, Xisco and Nile Ranger.

Howay The Lads!!

What can be done with Barton, cannot sell him and he’s obviously still causing trouble, fine him I suppose and the owner will be happy, I’d give his pay to Sir Bobby’s charity.

Will certainly be an interesting game but dis-harmony continues by the sounds of it.

Oh good. A week of practicing with Nolan and Ameobi up front… and Barton spits his dummy on the Friday afternoon, resulting in the team playing today with an unfamiliar line-up.

    Lynch him.

Try and look at the positives – this means that Ranger is more likely to come off the bench to replace stroller or Carrol!

SuperMac’s saying good for Houghton for standing up to him and thinks maybe the team might respond positivly, well not long to wait and see if he’s right.

Considering our past record against WBA, we’re a massive price for a win at 3/1 I think

MacToon – why can’t we sell him? I thought BFS and others were interested in him if he became available?

Shearer just said “no-one wants it” regarding the club. I hope he doesn’t know more than he’s letting on.

what about playing duff in the middle? He holds the ball very well and rarely gives it away.
