We reported earlier today that Joe Kinnear could surprisingly become the new Newcastle manager.
Joe Kinnear – to be announced manager on Monday?
We said that this morning, because yesterday the betting on Kinnear as the new Newcastle manager tightened significantly, so we thought there may be something going on there.
Certainly Ashley is expected to decide one way or the other this weekend, whether he will keep the Newcastle club, and the odds on that unfortunately have to be he will keep the Tyneside club.
And the Times is reporting now that David O’Leary is no longer in contention to become the next manager of Newcastle United.
Now the Daily Express is reporting that Mike Ashley will give Kinnear the Newcastle manager job this Monday, as presumably he has failed to get a good enough offer from Newcastle businessman Barry Moat, for the club.
This could mean Mike keeping the club for at least one year, and then we may have to go through another summer like this one (next year) – where Mike for the 3rd time tries to sell the club – just think of that!
We would hope that by next summer Newcastle will be back in the Premier League, but then Mike could put the club in danger of staying there, if he repeats his antics of this summer.
Is there no way of ridding ourselves of this owner?
Maybe tomorrow the fans can let him know what we think of everything he’s done over these last 12 months, when he’s just decimated our club.
We have nothing against Joe as a manager, but this seems like a step backwards, and will hardly to be greeted with much joy from the Newcastle supporters.
However, we still believe that if Joe hadn’t had his heart problems, we would have survived last season in the Premier League.
If he’s installed as manager, we’ll have to hope that Kinnear brings in a bevy of new players in August, so our squad is both big enough and good enough for the rigors of a 46 game Championship season.
Comments welcome.

Comment #4You know what, now a takeover is not occurin, id take anybody who can be classed as a manager. Better than being in absolute limbo and with 2 weeks left in the transfer window we need to get moving.
Why have we not signed lovenkrands up when we are lacking wingers and pacey strikers? Kinnear would get that sorted.
Obviusly Kinnear would be towards the bottom of my list of managers but we really need a manager to get the team together and to bring in a few new players with the little funds we have.

Boycott the home games, protest everyday, get these three criminals Ashley, Llambias and Kinnear out of toon.
This is the most horrible news we could have asked for. Ever.
That will do me, if this becomes official, I can’t take anymore of it. It is way too hard. I will not watch a game, not buy anything from the club and not involve my life with this club. It is no longer Newcastle United. It hurts to much.

Comment #13Lets Boycot the forthcoming games… I have my season ticket but am willing to stop at home and watch it on sky..
Those that do go I hope they make the game as uncomfortable for MA as humanly possible and that sky broadcasts every word of every hate filled chant towards him so the rest of the world know how we feel…

Comment #15Protests against Ash the Cash and the Team are two different things…
Smith who worked his socks off last weekend (2nd time ever) and other players have come out and said the team needs the support of the fans, if we are to go back up we need to give that support…
Ash should take a back seat for 90 Minutes while we put the team 1st!!!

Comment #16Wor lass wanted to get me the new third kit for my Birthday but I aint ploughing money into the club at the minute why should I help fund the demise of this once great club. It pains me that when I talk about football in my local every one pities us Hull fans, Leeds Fans, the two blackburn fans and the Monkey Hanger that sometimes gets in and the couple of sweaty’s that now live here. And its too much to take.

Comment #19Ive got to the point where ill be happy with loan signings, after all the top clubs have some class youngster we could maybe get them on loan.
Same with manager now its got to the point where we need somebody in to add stabilty to this sinking ship. Who ever it is I just hope they can bring in a cple o f players and not sell all our best players.
But if we sell taylor then I think that will be my breaking point, as I can understand selling duff etc after all were in the fizzy pop league and cant have these players on 50k + but we need to keep taylor as hes the heart of the team.

Comment #21I cant see how boycotting will work apart from demorilise the team. Ashley knows every1 hates him, hes put the club up and still refuses to sell the club for less than 100m, so a boycott will do naff all as he will just sit there all smug not caring.
Last week when duff scored, kevin nolan didnt go celebrate with duff he ran straight towards us and you could see how much the support meant to the players, so for the sake of promotion a boycott is just ridicilous. Im certainly going to be going to support the players, certainly not the fat cockney.
Toon_army….your right, go to the game and protest against ashley , not boycott and punish the players as well.

Comment #29Yeah, guess O`Leary wanted too much bread, not difficult to figure if you read between the lines.
Face it dont think any of the so called list of 5#
wanted the job, so who is the only one advocating for the job(apart from Shearer) yeah you got it, Joe.
You know with all the sh*t thats gone down in the last coupla seasons f**k it, dont give a rats ass anymore and hey go ahead and sell the whole team.
The damage has allready been done, it`s like a series of self inflicting of wounds by MA on the overall health of the club, how anyone could be so wrong for so long and continue to compound things, beggars belief.
Hey! aint my money!

Comment #35Waldo P. Barnstormer …. it’s much the same down here on the south coast.
The p**s taking from Spurs, Gooners, Chelski, WHU and of course the ManU and now the new found Citeh fans has stopped. They’re now seeing and saying that the way this club’s been run into the ground as a down right disgrace.
Ashley has done a really fine job!!!
