We reported earlier today that Joe Kinnear could surprisingly become the new Newcastle manager.
Joe Kinnear – to be announced manager on Monday?
We said that this morning, because yesterday the betting on Kinnear as the new Newcastle manager tightened significantly, so we thought there may be something going on there.
Certainly Ashley is expected to decide one way or the other this weekend, whether he will keep the Newcastle club, and the odds on that unfortunately have to be he will keep the Tyneside club.
And the Times is reporting now that David O’Leary is no longer in contention to become the next manager of Newcastle United.
Now the Daily Express is reporting that Mike Ashley will give Kinnear the Newcastle manager job this Monday, as presumably he has failed to get a good enough offer from Newcastle businessman Barry Moat, for the club.
This could mean Mike keeping the club for at least one year, and then we may have to go through another summer like this one (next year) – where Mike for the 3rd time tries to sell the club – just think of that!
We would hope that by next summer Newcastle will be back in the Premier League, but then Mike could put the club in danger of staying there, if he repeats his antics of this summer.
Is there no way of ridding ourselves of this owner?
Maybe tomorrow the fans can let him know what we think of everything he’s done over these last 12 months, when he’s just decimated our club.
We have nothing against Joe as a manager, but this seems like a step backwards, and will hardly to be greeted with much joy from the Newcastle supporters.
However, we still believe that if Joe hadn’t had his heart problems, we would have survived last season in the Premier League.
If he’s installed as manager, we’ll have to hope that Kinnear brings in a bevy of new players in August, so our squad is both big enough and good enough for the rigors of a 46 game Championship season.
Comments welcome.

Comment #45If Ashley really wants to ‘give it ago’ wouldn’t it be best to atleast try to get the fans behind him? Meaning hire Shearer, or a manager that we would warm too, I’d take Ginola over Kinnear proven or not, atleast he’d care

Basically no one is willing to meet the price valuation, will take it off the market in 7 days. Even David craig was asking people if they are interested to come forward!!!! how pathetic. toal mess. No chance the club will be sold, dont think ashley was even trying to sell in my opinion. He wants to bleed us dry. He must fuc*in hate us!!
My prediction
Kinnear back next wekend
and we will finish 13th.
what a season eh???
Iam at rock bottom.

Comment #56This Fat B*****d has killed our club and should be treated accordingly by the fans. How any true supporter can actually stand by him is way beyond me as he has disected the club little by little until there is nothing left. We have no chance of ever getting back into the premier as long as he is in charge. As for Kinnear he is the perfect choice as the club is run by lying b******ds, one more wont make any difference.

Comment #58Is it coincidence that he’ll be takin it off the market near the end of the transfer window?
He must have known he wasn’t going to sell it last week!
There’s been plenty of interest but nobody would pay the asking price.
What does that tell ya?
Lets not kid ourselves. Nobody will buy it because it would mean paying £100m for the club, pying off a £40m overdraft and then giving that fat twat £100m loan re payment!

Comment #61David Craig said that ‘they’ve done everything they can to sell the club, from financial structure that suits the buyer’
Mind you he said that twice so Ashley must be pretty disappointed he hasn’t sold the club.
Either way, GOD help us.

Comment #62…incidentally, why does everyone seem so convinced that Kinnear would take us down. I’m expecting to induce a pile-on here, but I actually quite warmed to him in his short tenure. The players seemed to too. I’m not saying he’s my first choice, far from it, just curious why there is so much animosity flying about towards the man.

The players certainly warmed to him because they were on flexy bloody time!
It doesn’t matter who the manager is, were selling all our best players and we won’t be replacing them.
Our squad is so thin Posh Spice would weigh more!
Don’ forget we play more games in this division.
Seriosuly relegation whoever is the manager.

Couldn’t agree more, at least he talked top the media and let us knew what as going on, bullsh*it or not.
Far from choice for me too though, Shearer is the only man that can shed light on a situation like this.

Comment #66The reason i despise Kinnear is that he mocked us a few weeks back saying you have to be a n=messiah or from “up here” to please the fans. He also called us deluded. Hes also just had major heart surgery and shouldnt be put into this position. he is also ashleys puppet and had only ashleys opinions. He is also a shit coach. He is also from the old school of management and has no fresh ideas. he also has never tried to pay good football. he also is a shit role model for kids. he also ….. blah blah blah
Mike ashley will bleed us dry to make some money back, as he cant sell for his ridicolous price tag, the club is worth nowt!!!!

Comment #69Stuart, I agree with the squad situation, it’s dire at the moment, and unless we re-inforce QUICKLY, we are foooked – even with Mourinho at the helm. Just a bit more JK stuff I may as well post….
JK
G—W—L—D—%
23—2—10—11—8.7
…17 points from 23 games
KK
G—W—L—D—%
21—6—9—6—28.57
…25 points from 21 games
Not THAT much difference. And KK had a more fully fit squad to pick from, at an earlier, less pressured part of the season.
Just a thought…..
Obviously I’d rather have someone else in like, and agree with you Doocey – Big Al is still the man for me. I mean, FFS, another argument for the anti Shearers out there – I’m sure he’s probably the ONLY potential manager out there who has watched EVERY SINGLE NUFC game over the last god knows how many years. He knows what’s wrong and how to fix it – doesn’t need to do any research.
Just hoping that Simpson is the first of many young upcoming Premier League loan signings.
Keep the Faith lads.
Reet, better get some more work done……..

Comment #72I personally think the best way to protest is to stay away. Okay it’ll mean a low crowd, but the team will have plenty of low attendances at the smaller stadiums this year.
Anybody at the game will (justifiably) vent their spleen at Ashley. However, the negativity will also be distracting to the players and I can see us losing the game. Far better protest by hitting the fat man in the pocket.

Boycott the home games, protest everyday, get these three criminals Ashley, Llambias and Kinnear out of toon.
This is the most horrible news we could have asked for. Ever.
That will do me, if this becomes official, I can’t take anymore of it. It is way too hard. I will not watch a game, not buy anything from the club and not involve my life with this club. It is no longer Newcastle United. It hurts to much
