Hughton Hails Newcastle’s Magnificent Fans

Things are looking bleak right now for the Newcastle club, as it looks like Mike Ashley will probably stay and appoint Joe Kinnear as manager.

Newcastle United – we at least still have the fans
So there’s not a lot of good news right now, and it looks like we’ll lose Damien Duff to Fulham and possibly other top wage earners at the club,  before the month is out.

One thing that can lift the doom and gloom is a win today against Reading, and wins always help in any situation.

And we still have the fans, who will no doubt be there today in their thousands urging on the players, who we hope will give another guts and glory display – but this time for the full 90 minutes.

And Chris Hughton – a real gentleman through all of the problems and nonsense of the summer, has rightly hailed the Newcastle fans.

Chris said:

“The fans here are so passionate about their team and, for me, it is a privilege to be able to lead them into the season.”

“We just hope to get the best start possible. We were happy enough with a point at West Brom but our aim is definitely all three against Reading.”

“I think we’re expecting a crowd of 30,000 plus on Saturday and that is terrific.” “It will be a huge boost for everyone and myself and the players are desperate to give them something to shout about.

“We can’t thank them enough for their support this summer, they have been magnificent.”

Good words from Chris and we hope the players will be inspired enough today to both play well and get all 3 points against Reading.

Then we’ll at least have something to be happy about tonight

From bbc gossip: Hull boss Phil Brown has lined up 34-year-old free agent Sol Campbell in case Liverpool make an improved offer for his £12-rated defender Michael Turner. (Daily Mail) … A Bit off topic i know but anyone spot the spelling mistake? 😛

By that rational, Titus Bramble is probably worth one pund fifty (30 bob in old money, seams about right) 😉

He can “Hail” all he likes. It doesn’t improve the total mess his boss has got United into….

Christoon1988 – Nope, spelling is fine. £12 sounds about right. I hope Hull get smashed all season, to honour their perma-tanned tw@t of a manager.

Hughton, hail 2 more over here. Just about to head ooff on the 210 mile journey to St James’. Lets just hope its a more enjoyable 210 miles back!

    Good point raised here.

At what point might the FA intervene in the destruction of a major football club under it’s governance:

Time for the FA to act and give Ashley a warning about asset stripping

Great fans, average team, awful management and administration.
