It’s Moat-Shearer or Ashley-Kinnear – By Wednesday

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley did make an appearance in the stands at St. James’ Park today, as he continues to search for a buyer for Newcastle, but he received a cold reception from the home supporters, as was expected.

Mike Ashley -and-Barry-Moa-001

Mike Ashley and Barry Moat in happier times

Fortunately for Mike, Newcastle were on top most of the match, and ran out easy 3-0 winners, with a great hat trick from striker Shola Ameobi.

Barry Moat sat between Ashley and Managing Director Derek LLambias, and he will know within four days if his loan will go through at Barclay’s Bank and if he can buy his home town club from current owner Ashley.

We wonder if Barry would have sat in such a prominent position, if a deal with Ashley wasn’t close (we hope it is of course).

So it really looks like by Wednesday’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday , KO 7:45 pm, we should know who will be running the club this season, and we hope it’s Barry.

It looks like if Moat is successful it will be Moat with Shearer as manager, and if Ashley doesn’t sell it will be Ashley with Joe Kinnear as manager.

But on the showing today, and assuming we can strengthen the squad and not lose too many more of the lads in the next two weeks, we must stand a very decent chance of getting promoted at our first try.

That has to be the most important thing this season, and we expect the Newcastle supporters to be there again on Wednesday night to cheer on the lads, against Sheffield Wednesday, whatever the outcome of the ownership issue.

We seem to be getting what we didn’t get last season from the players, and that’s guts and fighting spirit.

Long may it continue.

Howay The Lads!!

    P1ss poor!

Gutierrez worked hard(but he doesn’t get paid for that) but created not one chance and should have scored.

After win 3-0 against Reading. I think we’re on better mood and if we get new owner, Shearer to be our manager and bring some new players. It will be great !!

But if not, how can we do? let it be. Nightmare go on but at least I feel happy to see us win against Reading.

    Collocini-

Tried to beat the defender to every ball and was lucky the ref took pity on him and kept giving him the free kick..

Overall they were both sh1te as usual and would be happy to get £10m for them both provided they were replaced.

Daffy…Nobody is getting carried away…but under pretty horrific circumstances with a fragmented squad we can at least say fair play.

Now get back on your own board you toss pot.

    Carroll did nothing at all.

What did Jonas do? Please tell me…

Colo- He was poor I’m afraid. You’ll see when we play someone with a bit of pace and skill

He linked up well with Enrique, few decent crosses, couple of shots, just because he didnt score or get an assist doesnt mean he didnt do anything. And im sorry but if you think Colo was poor today then you should really think about buying some new specs.

    If you consider :

    We have no manager,
    Terrible off the field problem,
    The club on sale,
    No invest from owner
    Key players leave.

I think 3-0 win against Reading is great result and all of players and staffs deserved to get the credit. Don’t underestimate the rival. Both teams try hard to got something from this game and we can get the 3 points today !!

Oh, and for Joans and Colo i think they played well today, not great but no bad at all. And I want to praise Enrique, his run is terrific today. Hope he will stay to help us get promote this season.

jonas in the first half was a real threat, he terrorised that right wing and rosenoir is actual a good r.b. too! maybe he should have scored but he had a good game and linked up well with enrique, you are being far too harsh on the player

as for colo, he dosent fill me with confidence but hopefully he may get some with a good run in a winning team, having said that, his positional sense is not good and is a slight pushover, i would be very happy to see olo leave with his high wages and replace him with someone reliable like sol campbell

I look at it like this.

Ashley did not come to the club to get us in the shite and lose himself a fortune. He has just underestimated how complex football is. I think he wants out but has had such a financial kicking that he needs to realise as much money as he can for the club. Would any of you walk away from thousands of your own money or Millions in Mike Ashley’s case???? Thought not!!

Whilst I disagree with the Kinnear choice, will Shearer be any good? Yes, he was one hell of a player, in fact the best in a Black and White shirt. That doesn’t mean he will be a decent manager, look at Bryan Robson and Tony Adams for example, both bloody good players, crap managers!!! Just look at our last game of last season, he couldn’t even summons a fight from the team when it was do or die!!!!!

I think Ashley needs to go, I hope Moat gets in as he is a local chap who loves the club, but as for a Manager, who knows…….? Hughton seems OK at the mo!!!

Surely there was more to Moat sitting with the two cronnies today…I for one dont believe he would sit with MA just for the charity thing. IIRC all week the media have speculated that Moat would have lunch with MA and then take his seat in his OWN box – are we missing something here??

OK been a lurker for about a year now! Never posted cos Jeez Ahley has you all at each other throats one way or another!!

Anyyway a good result! Shola looks to have found his level tho did he mis-header…?

    Has Bartons Metatarsal gone again?

Sol to sign…I hope so!! its strange dont you think he hasnt got a club yet. It makes me think Shearer has sounded him out.

Good to see Moat sandwiched between Cashley & Liarambias tho I can think of better threesomes ;0)

Word of caution…how many of today’s team will be at the club come the 1st September?
