Newcastle Offer Peter Lovenkrands New Deal

Peter Lovenkrands has been offered the chance to return to St James’s Park this season.

Peter Lovenkrands – will he rejoin Newcastle?

The Evening Chronicle is reporting that the Danish international – who has not been able to find a club this summer – has been approached by Newcastle with a new deal on the tablke.

We had mentioned recently that Newcastle should sign Lovenkrands because he offers a different option up front.

Lovenkrands was sent a letter in July, saying he shouldn’t bother reporting for training on July 1st, because his contract would not be renewed, and he has not yet decided whether to come back to Newcastle.

With that shoddy treatment he may think twice about coming back, or he may just be waiting to see who the new manager will be on Tyneside, which we’re hoping to learn by the end of this week.

But Peter can also play on either wing, and is quick, and he would be a great addition to our squad for this season.

Peter had a six-month loan spell at St James’s earlier this year and he scored 3 good goals in his 12 games for the Newcastle club, and he was well liked by both the fans and the players.

There is no doubt the return of the 29-year-old would provide a welcome addition for Chris  Hughton, who is down to a very small squad in terms of numbers.

Lovenkrands has been using the training facilities of his old club Rangers in Glasgow , but there is no offer of a playing contract at Ibrox apparently.

Peter said today:

“Staying in the UK is still my first priority, but I do not want to rule out anything right now.”

A source close to the player told the Evening Chronicle today:

“Peter has been offered the chance to come back to Newcastle and is giving it some thought.”

We hope Peter signs for the club, and we’re not sure why he wasn’t signed up much sooner, but he may want to wait to see what state the club will be in next week.

After all, it’s been in a complete mess these last 12 weeks, since we were relegated.

Comments welcome.

We need to get this boy back in. It was a school by error letting the lad go in the first place!!!

We should also loan Arsenals Nacer Barazite. He is keen to go out on loan and will only consider Premiersip, Eredivisie and big Championship clubs i.e. NUFC and Boro. He is a clever player and will serve as good back up for our wafer thin squad.

Houghton has said he knows nothing of the two, so its clearly not him making the descions about players. At least some one is bringing someone in , but is this the same person who’s selling everyone!!

    Peter Lovenkrands,
    Peter Lovenkrands ,
Signed on a free from Germany,
    Peter Lovenkrands

Anyone who scores against Manure should be given a contract – the man was treated shockingly if we can get in him and Sol then it shows things are finally moving – I wonder if it’s Big Al behind these deals

More than Barry Moat interested in buying the club.
The debacle is going to roll on for another week.

This could just be a ploy by ashley to flush out a buyer, don’t hold you breath nothing has went smooth since he took over. A few twists and turns left no doubt.

I can’t understand why no-one wants him unless his wage demands are ridiculous? He looked dangerous whenever he played for us AND was one of the few who demonstrated commitment!

I’d take him back in a crack (as long as wages are reasonable) ’cause it actually gives us some nice problems – him or Barton on the right? him or Carroll/Ameobi upfront, 442/433?

This cannot go on much longer otherwise there will be no time left to do any transfer business.

I think that it must happen this week, possibly today or tomorrow, and start renewed with a 52,000 capacity crowd against Sheff Wed just to show Ashley what he is missing.

I cannot see Lovenkrands wanting to come back under the present regime what with the way they wrote to him and informing him bye bye!

My theory is that he was one Shearer wanted & told to bide his time…same goes for Campbell who has yet to sign for a club despite the season being underway. The same for Beckford, great striker put up for sale but there was hardly a peep about him in the papers, not even from his agent talking him up…other than he’d jump at a chance of signing for someone like Newcastle.

Yes, would take him back in a heart beat. If he has no other options he should give us a go.

I don’t blame him for being bitter about his treatment, but a professional fottballer will put that behind him and get on with earning a living.

The nobheads at the club did treat him poorly, but they might be gone soon.

We have to remember both he and Sol Campbell are without jobs right now. As long as their wage demands aren’t too high, sign up the both of them!

No doubt he’ll have been offered a reduced salary, but that’s life and he’ll still get more in two weeks than a senior nurse makes in a year so I won’t be losing any sleep. Ordinarily PL would be a sensible CCC squad player, he’s important to NUFC only because we haven’t got any sort of squad at the moment and time is running out!

Just about OK, but let’s not over-indulge in cheap average players. That’s partly why we went down, remember? The later it gets, the more we are scraping the barrel bottom.

if moat does take over the club, beckford will be ours. I believe a deal has been done for £1.6m once the take over has gone through.
