Newcastle To Try To Keep Steven Taylor

Good news being reported today in the Evening Chronicle, that Newcastle will resist Everton’s interest in Steven Taylor.

Steven Taylor – Newcastle to resist Everton overtures

If that’s true (and we’re not sure what to believe about most things about the club these days), that’s good news because the vast majority of fans want to see Steven helping Newcastle get back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

The lads more than a solid performer and has been very strong in the first 3 game of the season, and we’re hoping he’ll soon be linked up with Sol Campbell, who wants to join Newcastle on a free transfer.

There were some concerns that the club may leave Steven out of the squad because of the Merseyside club’s interest, but apparently that’s not the case, so we are told.

The future of Steven at Newcastle very much depends on whether Mike Ashley remains the owner at Newcastle, and if he does we expect Taylor to want away.

Steven would be delighted to stay if Alan Shearer is the new manager, but if Mike stays that’s not going to happen.

We’d love to see Steven stay at his home town club, and he probably already knows the fans certainly don’t want him to go anywhere – because he epitomizes the Geordie fighting spirit.

It would be great if Steven is still a Newcastle player at the end of the transfer window.

Comments welcome.

I really hope he does stay – it would probably push a lot of supporters over the edge if he was to leave. Not sure how much is his choice too though, I mean if he doesn’t want to go he just has to say so, right? He has a contract 🙂

Well SSN have just said that Lamearse has told them that there have been no offers for Taylor and they are not seeking any offers.

Also everything will be done and dusted on Monday. Either the club will be sold to one of the three interested parties or Ashley will stay for another two years.

    Need this to happen:

    1. Moat to buy and Cashley to FO
    2. Assurances to Steve Taylor of 1.
    3. Appoint Shearer which will reinforce 2.

    … 3 hours, 30 minutes and counting …

So, Burdo’s a friend of steven Taylor on facebook and he posted at 11 this morning that he is off to merseyside for a medical!!!

So ST’s got a doppelganger who’s traveling to London with the rest of the squad eh?

As far as trying to resist Everton’s approaches, adopt David Moyes’ attitude…… say NO!
