Newcastle Defense Gets Hughton Backing

It’s now more than three and a half games since Newcastle conceded their only goal of the season so far, at West Brom in our first game.

Steven Taylor – a rock in Newcastle defense

And after another clean sheet and a comfortable 2-0 win at Crystal palace yesterday, Hughton said:

“I think the clean sheet is as pleasing as anything.” “It’s nearly five hours without conceding now.”

“If you’re doing that then you’re going to win football matches.”

“We’ve looked solid at the back and, when the opposition has got chances, we’ve been able to rely on Steve Harper to make some great saves.”

A good example of what a good defense can do is our 1-0 win against the Owls in midweek.

It took just one goal to get all 3 points, even though Sheffield Wednesday came back strongly in the second half.

They were a good side last week in the second half, and had a good 4-0 win yesterday at home to Scunthorpe.

S.Taylor MUST STAY at the club otherwise we are doomed to further misery. If Ashley does sell him then i believe it will be through pure spite nothing else.

Anyone else really nervous about tomorrow? I think Ashley’s going to stay on in all reality!
