Newcastle Likely To Blood Youngsters Against Hudderfield

We expect at least three of our impressive youngsters, to start the Carling Cup game against Huddersfield tomorrow night.

tamas kadar 123

Tamas Kadar – should make debut tomorrow

With Newcastle to play 5 games in 14 days before the International break, it will be important to give some of our players a rest before the important home game against Leicester City on Saturday.

Then the players (or some of them), have 2 weeks off for the International break to recharge their batteries.

And the youngsters need blooding for another reason, because it looks like the club will need to rely on them, when we get our usual spate of injuries this season.

So we half expect Tim Krul, Tamas Kadar and Kazenga LuaLua to start tomorrow night, with a number of the youngsters again on the bench. We would also expect Nile Ranger to get a run-out tomorrow.

This game tomorrow is not as important as Championship games, but we still want to win it, if only to maintain the winning momentum on the playing field.

It’s going to be interesting to see the team Chis plays, but he will ber very determined to get 2 more wins in the next couple of games, before getting a short but well deserved rest.

Of course off the field Newcastle are playing Russian roulette, and the longer they wait for Moat to make a deal the worse it will get.

As we said this morning the longer this goes on, the more it looks like Moat will be buying something he just cannot afford.

He’ll be like the family that buys a huge house they cannot really afford, and everything they earn goes towards their mortgage payment, and they cannot even afford to buy too much furniture.

Replace the house above with Newcastle, and the furniture with players, and you see what we mean.

On the bright side, it’s a great chance for some of the youngsters to prove just how good they are at this level.

Comments welcome.

    I’d start

    Simpson Coloccini Kadar Lough

    Geremi Guthrie Butt Lua Lua

    Xisco Ranger

We need to keep the likes of Shola, Carroll, Barton, Smith, Taylor etc wrapped in cotton wool as it’s gonna be a long hard season.

Ed I was not expecting you to be speculating on Moat being not able to afford NUFC. How he can even think to bid if he can not afford ? Its simply not possible. Might be he don’t billions of own money but he must be arranging finance from somewhere.

I would suggest , everyone keep their cool and just hope this situation is resolved. I bet these papers are also reading blogs and forums where we all are speculating and then making a news out of it.

    I’d go for something like…

    Simpson, Taylor, Kadar, Tozer
    Guthrie, Donaldson, Butt, LuaLua
    Xisco, Ranger

Harper, Coloccini, Barton, Ferguson, Ameobi, Donaldson, Baheng

In this way we blood some young players, keep some experience through the team (Taylor, Simpson, Butt and even Xisco) and have some players on the bench who can come on and change the game.

Why Risk Colo… ? We should focus all our attention of the CCC. Plus with Colo’s call up to the agrie squad we need to blood the young ums.

We are part of the reason why this club is in the toilet and moat is trying to get us out of it!!!

How many people here would buy a £6000 bond if it guaranteed you a season ticket for £150 per year for the next 10 years? (making average price of the ticket £750 a year – par with today’s price for the sports bar area) If they did that and there was a decent take up – say 4000, that would ge the overdraft down to acceptable level, leave about 10 Million in the pot for transfers in and the guaranteed income should cover the interest to service the overdraft.

Also does anyone know when the Northern Rock sponsorship deal ends? I know the money has all already been spent from that deal, but when could we get some more income from a new main sponsor deal?

Mr Books – Northern Rock Deal expires next year. It would be better to negotiate a new sponsorship deal next year when we know if we will be a Premiership club or a CCC club.

This is the last season of Northern Rock deal.
New deal has to be Sports Part of moat buy out deal.

Also dont think people will sign up for a 10 year season ticket deal, after being bitten by the 3 year one. Nice idea though, but not everyones got £6k lying around.

    Lew – I know,
I was thinking only if Moat bough the club – If it was Ashley he’ get told where to stick it.

I was wondering if SportsDirect would be the main sponsor – thats a sh!t because basically all that means is the NUFC becomes a channel for Ashley to recoup his loan.

    Ashley Loans NUFC 105 Million
Sports Direct pays 105 Million for xyears sponsorship deal
Cash goes in to club – cash goes out of club – another x years with no sponsorship money, not to mention I bet there would be a plethora of supporters who would refuse to wear a shirt with Sports Direct logo on it, unaware of the irony that by not buying it they do more harm to the club as by that point it is immaterial to Ashley, he already has the cash.

Forgot to mention – that would also explain why the terms set on the loan from Ashley were that it was repayable at the end of this season.

Oh by the way – a little tidbit for the Ashley haters – he has not written of the loan – he has written of the interest payments that he is entitled to (0.5% above libor) which is worth roughly 2 million a year.

Unfortunately Mr Books, you are spot on about him recouperating his ‘loan’. He may have made some huge cockups, but he wont walk away from £100M easily. Would you?
He is basically handicapping the club for the next 5 years or so (my guess). In real terms he doesn’t get his money back, and NUFC doesn’t get any money in. Moat needs to get other sponsorship deals sorted ! Because ticket money alone isn’t anywhere near enough.

Actually If Sports Direct do become the main sponsor I think I will start up a clothing alteration business specialising in putting different designs over the SD logo on United merchandise. I’ll use any profit I make to invest in the club in some way. Maximum benefit to NUFC minimum advertising for Ashley.

    Any takers?

Ed, you state that we play Leicester on Saturday, I think you’ll find that it’s on Monday night 7.45, sky sports. Then it’s a break until the 13th Sept when we go to Cardiff.

However, I do agree that we need to put say two or 3 youngsters in and give them a well deserved run out, maybe make some more changes in the second half dependant on the score. Huddersfield are no mugs and I think it will be a tough game on Weds night.

We need to keep this run going, it breeds confidence.

    Howay the lads!!!

There maybe one or two youngsters, who can be effective in this division.
But to depend on them to earn promotion, would be dumb.
What we need are people like ,
    Sibierski,Lovenkrantz,to replace Jonas and Cixco.
There`s got to be some experienced defenders available on Bosmans.
Yeah this is the reality of where we are at, if you havent figured it yet.
If you think we are going to keep the present squad and meet the wage cost, forget it.
In order to get a team to-gether and dump the highly compensated players, prior to the window closing, will take a minor miracle.
What in the name of hell were MA & Co. thinking to get themselves into this mess, they have had months to take care of business.
Did they really think that someone would be crazy enough to spend a hundred million quid plus for a disfunctional lower league side in the
    far off north.
If so they are more whack and deluded than apparent.
