Pearson Has Done A Wonderful Job At Leicester

Monday’s visit of Leicester City promises to be another tough game, as Nigel Pearson’s side seem have continued their good form after last season’s promotion.

Nigel Pearson – while a coach at Newcastle

Shola Ameobi talked about Leicester City and their 46 year-old manager Nigel Pearson, who was on Tyneside for over a year, but left a few weeks after Kevin Keegan arrived:

“Nigel Pearson has done a wonderful job down there and it’s going to be a tough match for us,”

“We know that obviously at home, we have to do the business all the time and keep the pressure on the other teams to stay with us. But it’s going to be a tough game like it was on Saturday.

“But I feel if we match the physical element of it like we did on Saturday then I’m hoping the class will show.”

And of course Nigel knows exactly what Chris Hughton is going through, as Nigel was caretaker boss after Allardyce was sacked, and was in charge of that terrible game, when it was 0-0 at half time at Old Trafford, and we ended up on the wrong end of a 6-0 hiding.

Oh the memories – the terrible memories of the last few seasons.

Comments welcome.

If Shearer is not manager, I would want Lee Clark.

I feel Ranger still has a bit to learn before he gets a regular place in the first 11. At this moment in time i would rather put Smith up front and put Barton and Nolan in the middle, this is in no way any dig at Ranger but he is not yet ready.

I see what you mean – but the problem with smith is that he hasnt been able to hit a barn door since he signed. Our stong midfield can do the hardwork like in the cup the other day. Maybe carroll and ranger sub over halfway, or a combination of Xisco, Ranger and Carroll?

your right about Smith but i watched Ranger closely and i admit he was strong but he seemed a little out of his depth, maybe i’m beeing harsh on him as it was his first full game for us.

Pearson seems to be doing well for Leicester and let’s face it, he is coming back to Newcastle at an opportune moment with our injury problems to a threadbare squad.

Thanks ashley for your decisive ownership/leadership. What a ‘no-mark’ that bloke is.

Ranger IS our only fit forward!!!!

Unfortunately he is not yet ready to take on this responsibility, especially up front alone. All our other forwards are out injured. One option for Hughton I suppose is to put Nolan up front with him.

His only other choices are even younger kids with no first team experience i.e. Fabio Zamblera, Wesley Ngo Baheng and Frank Wiafe Danquah

Don’t want Barton in the Team!!!

Ranger should come on at 70 minutes for Smith…

Vuckic/Butt 45 minutes a piece depending on how match is going…

McNally isn’t saying anything we don’t already know but he’s packaged it sweetly.

And it’s refreshing to know that, after all of the mocking dust has settled following our demise, that there is humility and understanding from non-Mags.

Or is he a Toon fan?

Nolan and Smith pushing forward with Nolan spear-heading things is my guess for Monday. I’m not sure he’ll try Ranger from the start but maybe he will.

Imagine a time when we were struggling for strikers because our ‘big three’ Shola Ameobi, Andy Carroll and Xisco were unavailable.

We’ll look back and laugh won’t we?

I reckon Harper should be playing Up there with Ranger. with Krul having his first CCC start.
