Shola And Jonas To Miss Leicester Game Monday Night

Newcastle’s paper-thin squad – it’s nine less than last season’s small squad  for a season that has eight more league games in it –  has been exposed by Wednesday night’s injuries to Shola Ameobi and Jonas Gutierrez.

Jonas Gutierrez – could be out 4 weeks

Both players are almost certainly out of Monday’s televised very important home game with Leicester City.

Xisco is also out with a groin injury so 18-year-old Nile Ranger as the club’s most senior recognised striker, and he has one start at Newcastle.

Hughton talked about Gutiérrez and Ameobi.

“It’s not confirmed yet that they’re out for a month,” “Shola has got a stress injury to a bone in his foot, Jonás has a hamstring injury.”

“Initially we thought it might be coming from his back, but certainly they’re both very doubtful for Monday.”

“I’ve said we’ve been fortunate with injuries, we haven’t had more than two players injured at the same time.”

“But we’re at the stage now where we’ve got more players on the treatment table and it’s very much going to stretch this squad.”

You have to give Chris some credit in taking every chance in an interview to point out our squad is just far too small.

But of course whether football management geniuses Ashley and Llambias are even listening – or even bothered – are good questions.

Since they never say anything we never know what they’re thinking.

Remember that bad communication always leads to a lack of affinity and a lack of reality – and that’s what’s happened.

We don’t like them (lack of affinity) and we don’t know what the are doing (lack of reality) – so it seems true doesn’t it? Hey these things you learn in business school really are true! 😀

Both Joey Barton and Nicky Butt are expected to be passed fit after foot injuries, but as we’ve pointed out many times we have too many central midfield players and should sell at least one – and either of these two are top of the list.

Nobody will take Joey which is why we half expect to see Butt leaving the club in the next 3 days.

Wonder what’s happening with the sale? Wonder if Mike is still selling.

These are little questions we find it amazing we’re still bringing up, since it’s exactly 13 weeks tonight at 9:30 pm that Mike said he was selling the club – again.

Oh well – we’re still top of the league on points – if not goal difference – and we’re proud of what the lads have been able to do this season – so far – under ridiculous circumstances, created by the owner.

Howay The Lads!!

I was worried this sesaon might be a fight for CCC survival but the results have gave me hope we might even sneak promotion.

I can’t see us doing that unless we bolster the squad though. We need more decent players in key areas but everyone man and his dog knows that.

Can’t believe Ashley won’t stump up a few million to try and get promoted. Not because he wants us to do well but just to increase the chances of selling the club at the price he seems set on.

No guys think about this, you remember Steve Harper playing up front a few years ago under Roeder I think it was? Also Stevy T use to be a centre forward, so we have a few strange options! Though no doubt Hughton will play Nolan off Ranger and put Barton in place…. Not a bad option!

Think it is now time to forget about selling the club, stabilise the club by taking it off the market and bring some players in. We are struggling already and we have only played half a dozen games or so. Ashley CAN see this he is just turning a bling eye.

I still think the guy who suggested playing Dale Winton and Julian Clary up front in his team in a blog last week was onto something. Surely that would terrify any defence.

the sad facts of this sorry business is Mike Ashley lives in a totally different world to what we do Newcastle united football club runs threw our veins its the first thing we think of in the morning and the last thing at night, for Mike Ashley its just a toy to play with, and Llambias its a job, he’s not going to get the sack off his mate, they might be getting off on what they are doing to us, i just can’t except that our demise was not engineered, if i was to ruin a football club i now have a perfect model to do it it was just so obvious, everyone new how it was going to end. how far down we going to go before Ashley decides he owes the fans big style, lets face it he’s done more to ruin Newcastle in 2 years than Adolf Hitler managed in 5 years of war. hes now one of the 3 Stalin, Hitler, Ashly

Comment 9 is the team i would like 😀

This is what i think Hughton will pick

    ——————————-Harper——————–

    —–Simpson——-Talyor——Colo——-Enrique

    —–RTaylor———-Smith—Butt———Barton-

    ————————Ranger—Nolan—————–

In a situation like this i think Hughton relies on experience which could be his only fault to make this season

Once again it’s an injury that we’re first told is minor, and that Ameobi will be 50/50 for the match. Then again it turns out to be a month. I bet he’ll still be out after that month.
How many times has this happened? That players are out way longer than first thought. Especially with anchles and hamsrings.
I tell you the medical staff at the club is absolutely incompetent!
