Newcastle James Vaughan Bid In Trouble?

News today that Everton want £3M for 21 year-old striker James Vaughan that has alerted Premier league clubs like Stoke, Hull and Bolton, make it unlikely we’ll be able to capture.

James Vaughan – Newcastle bid in trouble

Although James could still want to come to Tyneside, because he’ll get his chance this season, that’s for sure, and help propel Newcastle back where we belong – to the Premier league.

What we’d like to see is for the club in these last two days to surprisingly sign some players outright – like Matthew Kilgallon of Sheffield United and Vaughan, along with bringing in some additional players on loan.

And then even announcing the club still intends to being in loan players and free agents before our next game at Cardiff in a couple of week time.

By the way why haven’t we signed Lovenkrands yet?  Since he can play striker or winger, and those are two position we need to strengthen, why haven’t we snapped him up?

That could happen if it looks like the American group is close to doing a deal with Ashley and are willing to fork out the money to buy players – while they still can before January.

But leaving things until the last moment like this can come back and haunt the club – we sholuld remembr a certain Irishman named Murphy.

Comments welcome.

Have to sayI admire your optimistic outlook and fortitude Ed.
But we have seen so many false dawns over the last couple of years I am fresh out of anything positive to say regarding the clubs future.

3 million? I think because they got 20-odd million for Lescott they think they can charge anything. Who is James Vaughan anyway?

TDT – Yeah, I’d guess that’ll be the team. Bit of a big ask for Ranger, but hopefully Nolan will push right up to help out

Ye AngerOfTheNorth, it will b massive 4 ranger. But i think he’ll relish the opportunity – all this protection crap doesnt wash with me. How old was rooney when he was thrown into the linelight? or owen, or all the 16/17 year olds playing for prem teams at the moment.

Hope the mid supports him like you say, then we’ll be just fine!

Na sounds like Everton want to make a fast buck on an injury prone rather average player. Let him go to Hull and watch him flop.

All im saying is I wouldnt like to sign him without bringing him in for a loan spell first. Then if he is really injury prone we can get shot.

James Vaughan has huge potential but has had too many injuries and therefore hasnt developed as much as he shud of, wud be happy to take a chance on him tho, preferably on loan first
