Hughton Expects More Goals From Danny Boy

Chris Hughton has backed Newcastle United match-winner last night, Danny Guthrie, to add to his goals tally during the coming matches.

Danny Guthrie – we’ll remember this image  for some time

Danny has played very well in his last 3 games and he has two goals to show for them – the same as Kevin Nolan.

And with Guthrie still feeling his way back to top fitness following his hamstring injury, interim boss Hughton believes the 22-year-old will be able to score many more goals this season.

Chris Hughton told Newcastle United TV this morning:

“He’s very capable of scoring goals and it’s two in two now,” “It was a terrific strike and worthy of winning a match.”

“And as Danny gets fitter and fitter, I’m sure he’ll continue to get into those positions and add to that tally.”

It was a terrific goal for Newcastle last night on 52 minutes, that was set up by Nolan and Ranger, and put home in magestic style by the 22 year-old.

Here is Danny’s winning goal last night against Leicester City in case you missed it.

That was an amazing goal last night, slammed it! He plays well on the right, now just get jonas back on the left.

    Hope we get:

    Mclovin,
    Gibson,
    Bale,
    cathcart,
    Vaughen (maybe)

Would be nice for a cheeky bid for beckford, or even in january for him.

I thought it was a good display yesterday from all the players except Geremi and Barton. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Enrique, I thought he was quality. Obviously the main men were Ranger, Smith, Guthrie, Harper, Nolan and Taylor.

Lets hope we get a few good loans in today.

    Toon update:

“Coloccini” has joined up with the Argentina squad for their all-important game against Brazil this weekend – I’d say that’ll make it very hard for him to be putting pen to paper on any deal and it should see him stay at St. James’s until January at least. I think if they can get him focusing on his football then he has to be worth having, although his wages are probably ugly reading from a prospective buyers point of view.”

    Enrique was terrific.

I like the lad very much, he has everything a full back needs, strong, quick, good recovery, good on the ball.

I have always rated him, but I don’t think our defence has ever been well organised and it makes good players look average at best.

i can see someone like geremi, butt or smith going, just to get the wage bill down a bit more. we could pay 3 championship players for what we are paying one of them!

Does anyone know if these American bidders or Barry Moat’s takeover depends on getting the deal done before the transfer window closes?

There aren’t many clubs sold while the transfer window is close is there?
