Too Much Hype And Black Coffee At Sky Sports Tuesday

We watched the last couple of hours of the transfer window on Sky Sports last Tuesday, and did you get the idea the excitement is being created with just a little bit too much hype? 😀

sky sports

We’d love to make a comic sketch of what we saw – but there’s this kind of thing that was going on – names  are fictitous to protect the inoocent – and to protect us. 😀

Here’s a typical 3 minutes of what we heard and saw:

“We are hearing that Arsene Wenger is keen on him, but there are also reports that Alex Ferguson may also put in a late bid.”

“And reports in Milan suggest that Jose Mourinho may also be keen on this player, although we hear Jose was picking his kids up from school and got lost”  “This could now have a big impact to Inter’s season”

“Oh, how exciting this all is, and to think there’s just 16 minutes left when the window will slam shut for these 3 clubs to make their move – isn’t this just so exiting.”

“Who will bid, will they bid, what will the bid be, who will win – will anyone be able to get him in ths short time left – we don’t know any of the answers – but isn’t this so exciting!”

“And John, we’re hearing down at Portsmouth they have 8 players still lined up to add to the 6 they’ve already signed this morning, but whether they can get the 6 through the door and the papers to the FA in 14 minutes – sorry make that 13 minutes – is dubious.”

“Oh and nwe’re getting news just in from the south coast club that their fax has jammed – and they are searcjing for another quickly.”

“Isn’t this exciting as we now have 12.5 minutes left, and there’s hectic action going on all over England – well except in Newcastle of  course where the last reports we had on newcastle was that  Mike Ashley ws taking a nap m- but thta was 3 hours ago.”

“Ken – get me another strong coffee please – I’ll need it in the last 12.5 minutes of the window – no make that 12 minutes – oh isn‘t this so exciting?”

Was it just us, or was this just a little bit over the top? 😀

It was almost like getting all the gossip Sports Journalists together including this on Sunday, and have them talk about what their latest stories are going to be, and seeing who could out do the other.

This is not meant to be a serious story so take it with a pinch of sale – and maybe a strong cup of coffee.  On further reflection don’t do that bacause that concoction would probably makes you sick.

Comments welcome.

I find most Sky Sports presentations over the top. Especially that loony bunch on Saturdays. When I do try and watch it I just wonder who is going to have a heart attack first. Besides their backside licking of Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal etc is sickening. Bunch of tossers.

Well funny Ericles….not bothered watching the window since Mike’s lack of activity in the Transfer Market sent me to sleep many moons ago.

Sky sports are so bias to the top 4 its unreal. When Eduardo got collared they got every pundit who defended the gooners on to spit their crap when everyone apart from Wenger and his loyal bunch of inbreds could see he’s a cheat!
Yesterday they were saying how the Chelsea desicion was harsh and why havent FIFA charged Man-ure at the same time!!

Ericles – I’m fed-up of your fence-sitting and holding back.

    Just say what you mean!

Over the past year Sky Sports have gone from being relatively reliable to being utter fiction-peddlers, along with some of the previously reputable papers.

Utter garbage from them on several occasions; file anything they say in the future in the same bin as the Mail, Mirror and the Beano’s Football Pull-out Section.

yes arsenal are cheats and we suffered from them last season when baye was sent off, you never see arsenal players try to get the referee to change his mind they always want someone sent off, even when they no that they haven’t done anything, maybe it should be like Gordon banks want and a season ban, my preferred option would be 1 game ban 1st offense 2 game, 4game, 8game, they will get the point eventually.

OK bowburnmag – as far as I am concerned I think the presentation of Sky Sports on a Saturday, especially the behaviour of Stelling, is a testosterone driven circus by a bunch of has beens who pontificate and opinionate their way through an afternoon. Each one cannot wait to spit out the names Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal – an absurd programme that glorifies a minority of clubs and their divas, divers, and overpaid prima donnas. Give me Match of the Day anyday!

i watched it and since i knew Newcastle were not involved just enjoyed it-all the transfers they were billing up we knew about allready-there were no suprises, in fact nothing happened. The presenters on the road just repeated themselves over and over again, and those in the studio just played the game.
You felt like shouting at the tv-but mate NOTHING is happening, but im sure they just treat it as a laugh as well..
