Steven Taylor Wants Hughton As Permanent Manager

Steven Taylor has today urged the Newcastle hierarchy to give Chris Hughton the United manager’s job permanently.

Steven Taylor – give Chris the job

Steven Taylor may have given up hope of Alan Shearer returning to St James’ Park, and now wants Hughton to stay as manager – on a permanent basis.

Steven said today:

“Would I be happy to see Chris Hughton get the job permanently? Yes, he’s done brilliantly,”

“He’s definitely strong enough to do it and he’s got the best out of the players here.”

“He deserves his Manager of the Month Award. We all respect him. A lot of the players would love him to get the job.”

That’s a bit of a change for Steven, who was the chief cheer leader to bring in Alan Shearer over the summer.

But Steven is just like the rest of us, he’s a Newcastle fan at heart, and he just wants success for the club, whoever can bring it – and that really speaks for all of us.

Not surprisingly, and very much like Glenn Roeder, who was in a similar position towards the end of the 2005-2006 season, when he was caretaker boss and winning almost every game, Chris himself would definitely take the job full time.

Chris said today:

“Would I like the job? Absolutely,”

“I’ve relished working with this group of players and would love that to continue.”

We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the next episode of the Mike Ashley at Newcastle soap opera.

But we may get some resolution on the Kevin Keegan affair tomorrow, and the outcome may even go in the club’s direction, but let’s hope whatever happens, we can get all 3 points at Cardiff City today.

After all that’s the most important thing this season – results on the field.

Comments welcome.

Results have gone well, but we’ve not exactly had the chance to see what CH is like in the transfer market

Players always want a caretaker manager to get the job.

When they do get it, that’s when it goes pear shaped.

Appointing the coach after a few good results – just because theyre already on the staff and its the easy option, doesnt work at United.
Maybe Steven should enter “Richard Dinnis” or “Willie McFaul” in a search engine………

I think he should definately get the chance this season. The he has brought the players together is commendable.

repeat the age old mistake, then we will sack a good coach & set us back 3 years no wonder we have never won anything for so long, we need the right manager, & i have not seen enough from Chris to suggest he will be the right man for the job, whilst our owner makes up his mind what hes going to do, not making Chris manager is the way to go, any one who suggests giving him the job, well you will give him the sack after 5-6 defeats. then who do we go to. arrr yes i forgot kinnear to set us back another 5 years.

I think Hughton is good enough to get us out of this division so I would have no problem with him staying in his role until the end of the season.

If we do get promoted then I think we should look for better.

i am getting a 100″ projector screen on Monday i have had an LCD projector for a year & always been meaning to do it on Monday, but this time i will do it, i have an hd lcd tv on the wall and i need to get some brackets made to enable it to come down over the tv. i already get a house full to watch the matches, but the wife’s not happy as we watch it on her tv, i have installed the sound system, so in the morning i will make the brackets ready to fit the screen. its going to be like being at the games.

Aye 4 clean sheets in a row but can’t help but think we were lucky. It’s a weird situation were in Keeper with most clean sheets in championship to Striker with most goals. Chopra seems bit bitter about leaving Newcastle still after reading some of his comments to press, I never thought he could cut it though. I’d be happy with a draw or win, I’ll lift me spirits a bit about the game. The thing is Cardiff have 2 good players that carry the team Ledley and Chopra, if they didn’t have them in the team they’d be a bottom half team.
