Carroll Makes Squad For Blackpool – May Start

A pleasant surprise this afternoon as Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll will be in the squad that faces Blackpool tomorrow night.

Andy Carroll – local lad fit again – great!

After thinking yesterday that Andy would miss the game tomorrow night, after only just recovering from his groin injury, it now looks like he’s shown Chris Hughton he is fit and available, and it seems he wants to play.

There will be some good competition between big Andy and Nile Ranger for that second striker spot once Ameobi returns, and of course competition never hurt anybody.

And  caretaker boss Chris Hughton said Andy may even start at Bloomfield Road, as Chris talked to the media ahead of the game tomorrow night:

“Andy is in the squad. We’ve assessed him over the last two days and are delighted with the progress he has made.”

“We are yet to make a decision on whether he will start the game.”

That’s good news and we’ll see how Andy fares when he gets on tomorrow night, but we have every faith in Andy, just like we do in Nile Ranger, and whoever is up front tomorrow night, we know they’ll be working their socks off – because we need the win.

Whereas over the last 2 years, things have usually been on the dark side at Newcastle, we are just so delighted at the way the players have performed so far this season, and we wonder when the bubble will burst?

But that’s us being negative, which you can never accuse Chris, Colin or the players of being so far this season – it’s been like a dream and we don’t want to wake up from it.

3 points tomorrow night and the ecstasy (without the agony) will continue,  and the lads will need to be rewarded with one big bumper crowd against Plymouth on Saturday afternoon at St. James’ Park.

The message then will be – so far so good.

Howay The Lads!!

20 to 30 minutes should be more than enough and hopefully we’ll be well in the lead by then.

Lovenkrands needs playing time to get match sharp so they should start with him and Ranger up front and carroll to replace one of them if we need too .
    Simpson —S Taylor –Colo—Enrique
    Geremi——–Barton —–R Taylor

That team will be good enough to get 3 points

I say don’t start him against Blackpool, no need to take risks with our paper thin squad! Give Nile another start and with it a chance to impress.. its not like we aren’t getting results with only playin one up top!

The biggest miss will be Alan Smith – Butt just can’t do the same job in the same way……and he keeps passing to the opposition and putting us under pressure.

Its good Carrol is back but he won’t start lovenkrands will. Smith will be a massive miss and it was harsh the first one at least

I’m afraid Butt will start, and that might cost us. It’s sad that he’s still picking up 50k a week to play awful football, he’s so slow that he would even struggle to dominate in sunday league.

His passing is probably the worst I’ve seen from a professional player being a regular midfielder. It’s shocking how poor he has become.
