72% Don’t Support Keegan’s Action Against Newcastle

We have ran a poll over the last 24  hours to try to gauge the feelings of Newcastle supporters (or more accurately those supporters who read this blog), over the current Tribunal between Kevin Keegan and Newcastle United.

kevin-keegan-3282

Kevin Keegan – his action not supported by Geordie fans

With 416 votes cast over the last day or so, 72% do not support Keegan in the actions he has taken.

The question asked was Do You Support Kevin Keegan In His Action Against Newcastle United?

72% have said NO
28% have said YES.

Kevin is suing Newcastle for 3 years in salary and £1M in court costs, for constructive dismisal last September.

We understand Kevin was getting around £3M/year at the club, so that’s around £10M in total he’s claiming.

A  special Premier League Tribunal is meeting this week to hear the facts from both sides, and then presumably decide on an amount of compensation that would be suitable for Keegan – if any.

We understand both sides have agreed to accept the judgement of the Tribunal.

The Newcastle United club is counter-suing Kevin for £2M for breach of contract, since they contend he walked out on the club.

The poll will be open until the end of the game at Blackpool tonight.

I completely agree, KK shouldn’t be after a penny, if he loved the club like he said he does, then he’d walk away & not look back!!

Anymoney he gets come out of the clubs pocket, not Ashleys, so he’s doing nothing but hurting the club & its fans!!

I support Keegan – no employer should be able to screw the workers, especially one of the most valued workers who’se ever graced the place

-and any fool who calls the great man greedy for asking for basic rights of employment is not being very bright!

Sorry Ed but shouldn’t the story read:

“70% of 334 people who have access to a computer, logged into this blog, may or may not be NUFC fans (we have no way of knowing), and might never even have attended a match, voted…..??

To save Eds web space, i wont rant about this as i could go on forever.

But Keegan said things that when he was in charge he knew the situation way before he left. Such as he hopes dennis wise gets him some more players like Jonas and Colo and he said he let milner leave. So Ashley could win.

However i could accept keegan leaving if he felt it was “them” against him but sueing the club?….i loose all respect for him.

Shearer had water in his eyes when we got relegated, Keegan sues the club. Shearer is a true geordie hero, Keegan is not. Not matter how good he was in the 90s.

Who are the stupid 30% thinking that Keegan deserves as much as a penny for starting the mess which resulted in the club now playing in CCC?!

The midget shouldn’t get a dime, let him rot in Scotland.

I think we all more or less know the basis of the case from both sides so unless something comes out from the action that we not aware of, then I am anti-Keegan but with a heavy heart.

You may be too young to remember Bobby, but Keegan was good in the 80’s also. Choosing to even come here in the first place from Southampton (as England captain) is one of life’s mysteries.

I dont think the tribunal will be able to find in favour of either party, as both are at fault along the line. Therefore it is quite easy to settle the claim as 50/50.
ie kk gets 50% of his claim for wages = £4.5M
kk pays NUFC 50% of breach of contract claim ie £1M.
Each party pays their own legal costs.
KK walks away with £2.5M job done.

Of course this is far too simple for all these highly paid legal types to get their heads around.

Would make me happy though and the club can move on.
    Next please.

Any money won’t come from Ashley though.

Keegan will be getting money from NUFC and any fine will be imposed on Sports Direct.

Perhaps the question was loaded !!

The money will come from fatboy – as he is the sole owner.

Ashton – KK walked twice; for the same reason both times – he was miss led by the owners. Cant fault him for his principlies and also the type of football his teams play

    …….

Ashley owning the club has little to do with it, the money will come from the clubs account and if it isn’t already there then we will have to raise the cash somehow, possibly by selling assets.

It’s a tough one as I hold KK partly responsible for our relegation. He knew the deal at the club long before he walked. It seems to me that he left suspecting that with the players he had at his disposal weren’t good enough to do the job that Ashely was asking. However if he genuinely felt that Ashley forced him out then he has every right to seek compensation. The truth is that he bottled it again and Ashely is a terrible business man and employer. The saddest part is that KK has tarnished his once great name at this club because of poor decisions by both parties.

    It’s 70% of 334 people who logged on here…..whoever they may be…..

Thats 233 computer users and nobody knows who they really are……

    Hardly representative of 52,000 fans??

Rangerman – the club accounts = Ashleys pockets

Should they be depleted by 8 million – the price goes down 8 million – or stays the same if you are a mug.

Rangerman – and i thought you were an extremely intelligent person.
What a load of absolute bollocks that Ashley owning the club has little to do with it, it has everything, its his, his money, all his, to do with as he likes, when he likes, the whole kit and caboodle.
He can put money in any time he wants and take it out if he wants, if the accounts are shite or good then its down to him to manage it a little better.
Sure its not good but equally if it was better he would benefit not us .
Keegan is arguing unfair dismissal, why not, its a civilized society and he has that right like everyone else.
Why the smear campaign about the amount, who says its 10m, if so, so what, they shouldnt have employed him in the first place if they couldnt afford it and if they treat the man with a bit more respect and not like some irrelevant yes man then we wouldnt be discussing this.
How this has been turned on its head amazes me, and also the portrayal of Keegan as robbing the club of vital transfer cash is just a complete joke.

To any of you who thinks he is taking away transfer money you must be on drugs. There is no way Fat B*****d will buy any players, not now, not ever.

People have voted as though it’s KK who has less love for our club’s people than Ashely!

It’s Ashley who would rather he’d never darkened our doorway.

Strange! and funny enough they tend to be pro the owner (still can’t say the fat git’s name).

Im totally stunned that so many fans have turned on KK just because he wouldnt become Ma’s puppet and stood up for himself and the club. IMO KK walked because he new if he stayed on after wise brought nacho and xcisco in against his wish’s, he would then have been blamed for relegating us simply because Ma wanted to let wise decide who he wanted to bring in not who we needed. I honestly believe its not a matter of KK v’s Club it is KK v’s Ma the same man that has wrecked our club. For all the people that voted against KK think to yourself would you except being treated like a Knob head and letting Ma and wise laugh at you behind your back.
