Habib Beye Backs Marlon Harewood For Newcastle

Chris Hughton had had some good feedback from Habib Beye about his colleague Marlon Harewood at Aston Villa.

Marlon Harewood – would be good loan signing for Magpies

Beye told the Evening Chronicle today:

“Marlon is looking really fit and ready to go.” “He needs to play first-team football and Newcastle is the ideal place for him to do it.”

“He’s an excellent character, one who I think can fit in well at Newcastle.”

“I wish him all the best.” “Hopefully he can help Newcastle get back to where they belong.”

Those are good words from Habib, who was a great favorite  with the Newcastle fans and he and Seb Bassong were the  two major players we were sorry to see leave the club  in the summer.

Habib of course was also a terrific player.

They were the two Players of the Season for Newcastle over the last two years,  and they both achieved the honor in their very first seasons on Tyneside.

But Newcastle did a good deal to get Danny Simpson on loan from the Red Devils, and as long as Danny remains on Tyneside,  it wll soften the blow for the loss of Beye.

Just about to buy Newcastle shirt. Who should I get on the back? I’m thinking Guthrie 8, or Nolan 4. Any thoughts?

    Is that so Habib? Hmmmmm!

Read elsewhere the stumbling bock appears to his wage demands – £25K/week. DEEP SIGH.

Harewood would be alright at this level but not beyond, not worth signing him for good, unlike danny simpson.

I beleive harewood will prove to be an excellent piece of business for newcastle…

    Well done chris houghton….

Now watch him bang the goals in and bring further power and pace to our front line!

with Harewood & Carroll upfront and ranger to come on with 30mins to go the championship defences won’t know whats hit them….!!!

    Come on….let’s get behind him

    “super super marlon” :_0

toon18-not really one to get names on shirts, but if I did it would be Enrique. However, that won’t happen until the fat one is gone out the door.

Harewood will certainly give Hughton and Calderwood some options. Harewood/Carroll, Harewood/Ranger, Carroll/Ranger, Lovenkrands with any of them and of course Shola by the turn of the year. Does everyone think this strike force is enough? And what about the defense? Personally, I think one and possibly two are needed there, although some think our youngsters could be all we need. I’m also impressed with Danny Simpson. I would like if we could extend his loan deal for the entire year.

I dont give a sh1t what Habib “Im in it for the long run” Beye has to say. The way he engineered his move away despite clearly still being wanted was ridiculous. If he wanted to go, then do what Martins did and just go rather than spouting patronising vitriol!
