Kevin Nolan, the man of the moment on Tyneside, has talked today about his injuries over the last year or two.
Kevin Nolan – a leader (and goalscorer) at Newcastle
He also comes out and gives a huge compliment to the Newcastle medical staff for taking care of him since he arrived last January from Bolton.
The likable Liverpool lad, who because of his emotion and passion, is a natural for the Newcastle club, is now in the best physical shape he’s been in for a long long time, and it’s starting to show.
Kevin said today:
“The last couple of seasons I have been struggling with injuries, ankle problems and rib problems.”
“But since I have got to Newcastle they have looked after me and that’s been a big plus, the physio department have been tremendous.”
“I had an ankle operation just before I signed for the club and that had an effect on my form when I came.”
“The big plus for me is the last six months has been the first time I have trained every day for a long time. It was the first proper pre-season I’ve had behind me for years.”
“It has been really good. I have really enjoyed training every day and that is why I am starting to produce on the pitch.”
“The most important thing is to keep winning games and get this great football club back to where it belongs.”
Of course we are only 9 games into the season and37 game still to go, so we just have to make sure that every league game we play we go for the win.
And our squad is still far too small so fans are hoping that will be corrected, and certainly a couple more good loan signings soon, would help tremendously.
As we’ve said recently, we would think that if we can get 30 wins this season, automatic promotion will be a near certainty – and Newcastle fans everywhere will be dancing in the streets.

Comment #2Definatly found his level as have a few others…The Fizzys is miles away from the premiership in terms of quality but it’s nice to be supporting a team on a decent run, scoring goals and playing like a team.
Now we just need Fat Boy to sell up and we can start moving forwards again.

Comment #4SJT – Iwouldnt say Nolan has found his level as such. Remember he played in a Bolton side that finished in European places and also recieved call ups for England. If fit and played where he can be most threatening, he can more than cut it in the prem.

Comment #6I think all the players in the squad will be battle hardened by the time we get rpromoted, relegation could be a good thing for the club as it really has seperated the strong and weak.
