Steven Taylor – clean sheet needed tomorrow

It was a big disappointment on Wednesday night, in both the way the lads played and the final result, so a good result is what we need tomorrow.

Steven Taylor  told the Evening Chronicle today:

“Bristol City will be a tough game, I’ve no doubts about that.” “Before we go out for every game, we say if we keep a clean sheet, we’ve got the forwards to get us a goal.”

“They’ve got the ability.” “If we do our job at the back, I’m always confident the strikers will do theirs.”

“They’re all going to be hard games, but it’s about how we approach them.” “If we do what we did against Ipswich, hopefully we’ll get the result we need.”

“The crowds have been fantastic, and we hope that continues, and they get behind us from the first minute.” “It helps so much.”

“We say it as players in the dressing room – when we hear the fans, it’s great.” “When they’re on their feet and singing, it makes such a difference.”

“It does help you. Teams coming to St James’s Park don’t want to play against Newcastle.”

More desire and fight will be needed by the team tomorrow, if we are to keep up our fast start to the season.

But if we can get the win, we’ll be in a great position after the first 11 games of the Championship season. and that’s the main thing.

In some ways he’s right if they play well at the back then the mifield get a lift and that generally passes up to the forwards.

The team becomes more positive and that generally results in more wins. 🙂
