More Distractions For Hughton And Newcastle Players

We are starting to get just a little worried that the sale of the Newcastle club, which seems to be in full tilt right now, will produce even more soap opera chapters on Tyneside, and that cannot be good.

Mike Ashley – a disgrace to the Newcastle club

And we have to hope the players and Chris Hughton are successful in avoiding all the nonsense that owner Mike Ashley continues to create at Newcastle.

To say Mike has  been absolutely hopeless as an owner, doesn’t even come close to addressing the damage he has inflicted on the club.

Isn’t the board at a football club supposed to support the players and the manager?

Chris talked about the new talk of an imminent sale of Newcastle, which may not happen until next summer:

“It’s isn’t a distraction, it’s become normal for us. We have got used to it. It’s really great just to be able to focus on the team and winning football matches.”

“It has been good to know we have managed to put the takeover stuff in the background a bit with results and performances. It’s probably to be expected that, with no games, there are lots of stories regarding the takeover again at the moment.”

“It isn’t something we pay any attention to because we have a group of lads who are very focused. They’ve had a good start to the season and this break has come at a good time for us.”

“It has given me the chance to give the players a couple of days’ rest this week as well and that is important because of the number of games we have to play in this division.”

If the club is to be sold, we have to hope that happens quickly, but Ashley has never done things well or professionally at Newcastle, and we don’t expect him to change.

We’d like to see him sell the club and leave Newcastle, and there will be huge sighs of relief heard on the banks of the Tyne, when that day comes.

He’s been a disgrace to the the proud name of Newcastle United – and those are the facts – that’s not an opinion.

MA wont sell it yet because we have a good chance of being promoted and the value of the club will increase.

Face it, we are stuck with this toad until at least summer 2010 :o(

I want to feel a bit more upbeat about Ashley. I really do hope we see the rear end of the ignominious toad heading south across Tyne bridge very soon.

i think we all do, Ericles, but as i have said previously on other pages, I’ve got the awful feeling that the fat prat is going to hold on until we go up, without spending a single penny on the first team, and then give us another preseason in limbo where nothing happens, leaving us lacking on the pitch.

if he stays, and we do go up, mark my words, we will come straight back down.

Its catch 22 really. Go up and the fat cats win. Stay down and another year of hell.
