Sunderland Want Enrique – Bolton After Smith

Two reports in the News Of The World today suggesting that Newcastle players are wanted by teams in the Premier League.

alan smith hgh

Alan Smith – going nowhere

The first one is Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is said to have been impressed by left back Jose Enrique, and will probably make a move for him in January.

And Alan Smith has been watched by Bolton, who are said to be watching him, and of course we know David Moyes of Everton have been interested in Alan for some time.

One reason we find these reports strange, is why would the players ever want to leave Newcastle right now?

The two players are still on their Premier league wages, with Jose on around £45K/week and Smith on around £65K/week, and with Newcastle doing so well, at the top of the Championship, why would they ever want to leave the ship that is going full steam ahead right now and headed for the Premier League?

It’s doubtful, very doubtful if Bolton could even match the wages Newcastle are paying Alan, never mind why he would want to leave, since he seems to thrive on the large and passionate crowds at St. James’ Park.

So these reports are put out, but there doesn’t seem much logic behind them, unless Newcastle will have to sell in January, and if that is true then everything is up in the air again at the club

The only case that could be true was if Ashley was still at the club and why would he want to sell if Newcastle were well positioned.

But hey, you never know what’s going on in the mind of the owner, since he never talks to anybody about what he’s thinking.

However, we’d still be very surprised of any of our players want to leave, or are allowed to leave come January.

Comments welcome.

The club will still be upside down come the transfer window and the sales will continue in my opinion.

I expect Krul and Carroll to be sold as well in january and possibly Jonas as well as the above mentioned.

from the Sunday Sun.. interesting even tho its the Sunday Sun…
Tyneside businessman Barry Moat is still at the heart of the takeover intrigue, along with two American groups, one of them fronted by Lancashire-based Geoff Sheard.

And I am told Sheard’s main backers may be the New York-based Starr Foundation, a charitable investment fund. Moat and Sheard have met for talks in recent weeks, although it is unclear whether there is any prospect of them pooling resources to fund a bid for United

Bolton make me laugh they have not got two pennies to rub together, no doubt they want him on loan and we pay his wages.

Another Sunday paper speculation. Whatever happens Ashley will continue to rape and pillage his way through NUFC. Our only hope is the sale of the club and get out of his oily grasping hands.

Well the first line of your blog say its all Ed – Two reports in the News Of The World today suggesting that Newcastle players are wanted by teams in the Premier League.

It’s the NOTW reporting, you should all know by now that anything reported in that crap-loid is full of make believe, wishes & fairy tales, so why bother getting upset about it, it’s complete nonesence!!

And to add to that, why would those 2 particular players want to leave the TOON for lesser clubs like Bolton & Smackems for jeez sake, we’ll be playing them next season & most likely beating them, either that or they’ll be coming down as we go up!!!

We are a bigger club even in Championship. If we are on top come Jan with these players happy as they are no one is going to leave.

Never shift Smith on £60k a week–Is Enrique finally finding form to avoid having to wear that shirt?
