Marlon Harewood has talked today about his time so far at Newcastle and he’s asking the question “what crisis?”.
Marlon Harewood – what crisis?
Marlon talked about what it’s like in the dressing room at Newcastle from the playing side of things, as he told the Evening Chronicle today:
“I haven’t seen anything bad here, just a really good set of professionals.”
“They went down and they were upset about it, but I haven’t seen any evidence of last season.”
“They have a job to do now and that is to get back in the Premier League – that’s all I have seen.”
Harewood believes that Newcastle still have some good players in the squad ans they are just determined to get the club back into the Premier League after last season’s nightmare, when the club was relegated for the first time in 20 years.
And the team just didn’t show enough fight in too many of our games earlier in the year, but that has changed rather dramatically this season as the team is willing to fight tooth and nail to get the wins in the Championship – so far that’s 7 in the first 11 league games – and the fans are just loving it!
“There are some very good players here.” “They are established players, but they have a point to prove.”
“They want to get back up there and stay there.” “They have all experienced the disappointment of last year and they don’t want to experience it again or be involved in a relegation battle.””
“They are knuckling down and looking really sharp.”
Harewood has looked good since he came to Newcastle and had his first start 9 days ago against Bristol City, and hit the post after just 8 minutes in that game, and of course he scored the equalizer in the previous game against QPR, and went crazy in his celebration. 😀
Harewood seems determined to get his career back on track and he can certainly do that of he scores consistently for the Magpies, as he’ll get his chances in the next 3 months or so, while he’s on loan from Aston Villa.
“I just can’t wait to start playing really.” “I just want to get on the pitch and score goals.”
“I want to help the lads out to win football matches.” “The team has been playing really well, so I have to show in training that I can go and do a job for them.”
“It’s my job to score some goals and bring something different to them.” “I’ll hold the ball up and challenge for the ball and score goals.”
Well it’s hard to disagree with that, and like any Newcastle fan, we just hope that Marlon can do great while he’s on Tyneside, and certainly the fans, as usual, will give him all the backing they can.
Howay The Lads!!
