It looks like Argentine Fabricio Coloccini is still an injury doubt for our game at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Fabricio Coloccini – still doubtful for Saturday
Thinks – I must get a haircut in the next 5 years
Although Coloccini had a difficult time of it last season in the Premier League he’s looked a lot better this season in the second division of English football and is rarely injured.
But Fabricio picked up a groin injury recently and they are sometimes difficult to shake off, and it will be important that he fully recovers and no risks are taken with him.
The former Deportivo man, and Argentine International has missed the last two matches after limping out of the 4-0 victory at Ipswich Town last month.
Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has told Newcastle United TV that the United defender is only “touch and go” for the game this Saturday:
“Colo is still to train with the rest of the squad,” “We’re hoping he’ll do so by the end of the week but he’s touch and go for Saturday.”
“Other than Colo we’re OK, fingers crossed, and the only long-term absentees are Joey Barton and Shola Ameobi.”
We expect Chris to take no chances at all with Coloccini, and if he doesn’t make it we’ll need to start Steven Taylor and Zurab Khizanishvili in central defense, but it does look like Spaniard Jose Enrique will be back, and that’s good news.
