Mike Ashley Must Come Clean At Newcastle

As we reported yesterday there will no transfer funds available to Chris Hughton in January.

Mike Ashley – Newcastle’s biggest impediment to promotion

The Newcastle squad is very good this season, but very small and any injuries will have a severe impact on the playing side of things.

We already have two long term injuries, and with 2 games almost every week, the squad is not big enough to last the season – at least not big enough to sustain our good start to the season.

No money will be available only if Mike Ashley still owns the club and we have to think that because of Newcastle’s good start to the season Mike is thinking of keeping the club, and that would be a disaster.

Of course we don’t know what the man is thinking since he never communicates, and when he does he seems to say things that are untrue – as witnessed in the recent Tribunal involving Kevin Keegan, which the club lost.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – this man is the biggest impediment to promotion for Newcastle this season.

With his record at Newcastle over the last 13 months some would argue he is not “fit and proper” to own a football club.

Lying to the fans and the manager surely should bar him from owning a club, and this, without doubt, is what he did last year.

After all, how many CEOs lie to their customers?

It was just Newcastle’s luck to get a guy like this coming in and buying the club, and he is now being investigated for fraud with his company Sports Direct. So while he may be completely innocent, all of this doesn’t look good.

Whatever this man is thinking, he needs to tell the Newcastle players, the fans and his coaching staff.

Surely that’s something this man can do – simply out of respect for the famous Newcastle club, which he ahs decimated.

And Ashley, in case he is not aware of it, has lost all respect on  Tyneside and rightly so.

Not only has he presided over the team being relegated, but he continues to make the club a laughing stock, and we are just sick of it – and sick of him.

Comments welcome.

A sage but realistic assessment Ed. Ashley is not a fit and proper man to run a football club it is true. If he was an MP he would be out on his neck at the next election! The scumbag must have grown up listening to Goon Show scripts!

Its just sad that we have such an owner. Whenever I see him I just can not control and want to slap this poor man. Not sure what he is made of, why can not he understand feeling of hundreds of thousands of Newcastle fans.

I do really hope somehow we are sold soon.

People need tio stop winding themselves up by following this ongoing debacle day by day. I and many others said a fair while ago that MA has no intentions to sell this club until we are promoted/guaranteed promotion. Think abou it, if you were in his shoes, would you sell the club for 100million with the knowledge that the purchaser is likely to double their ROI in less than a year? No, you wouldn’t. The man runs the club like a true retail mogul. Lies upon lies upon lies, but you can’t hate him anymore than the CEO of McDonalds, BSkyB or Coca Cola. This is just the nature of business in a capitalist world.

MA has purchased an asset, stripped it down to the bone, and WILL sell it for a profit as it will be a more attractive product for potential buyers. Sound like anything you have heard in business before? 😉

This business venture is almost over fo MA and he will walk away a richer man…but there are still a few months left i am afraid. Be patient.

The sooner that FAT COCKNEY B****** is gone the better. Done nothing but run this club into the ground. How he can sit up there with that smug grin on his face on Match days is beyond me.

As I see it, the only thing that can get MA out of here, is to show him the fans are united. If we i.e. didn’t go in to the stadium until after 15 min. he would understand that if we didn’t turn up at the home matches, he wouldn’t get any money in his pocket. Let’s be united, and show it to MA.

    GOOOOOOOO TOOOOOOOOON ! ! ! !

Chris Hughton is an admirable man but you cant help feeling that he is being used as a fall guy for this pack of twats.
If Ashley had budgeted 8m for the Keegan payout where is the 6m change?
If the fat swine is staying, why cant he come out and speak to the fans?
All this bollocks about potential buyers and bids, what a fabulous excuse to hide behind, meanwhile nil expenditure and maximum income, what a dream for the fcb.

I honestly think the club will not be worth double the price should we get promoted.

Firstly, we have a poor squad by Premier League standards, and we need to invest. Upwards of £30m as a guestimate.

Secondly, we will only be guaranteed 12 months at the top level. OK, we will get extra TV money – circa £30m, & possibly higher crowds, but big sponsorship & corporate deals will be limited ……we will only get those when we stabilise as a top flight club.

I can only see anyone realistically paying another £30m tops., because of what they will have to spend to keep us up. Perhaps a good season next year could mean more value being added at the end of the 10/11 season & more income from longer term sponsorhsips etc, but no way will there be a such a big hike in income to make us be worth £200m at the end of this season.

Ashley is simply an idiot if he does not realise this…. sell now !!!

I can’t believe he can still show up at matches…he is the worst thing to happen to NUFC in a long time.

He should be banned from entering the ground on match days…it is sickening that he even shows up….fans must start getting on his back more at games…he is EVIL.

What people seem to forget is that whilst Mike Ashley might not be flavour of the month, he did save the Club from administration. Under the old regime, it was technically bankrupt! He has not surrounded himself with the right advisors and it is a far bigger committment than he ever imagined, but at least there is the option of a way forward in the future as the Club is still able to trade. Yes, he has to move on but we would have been bust, financially, if not for Ashley.

jasper thats correct – if your assuming that no one else was interested in buying the club – but we are led to believe that others were interested but fatboy jumped in without doing due diligence and got his little fat fingers burnt.

now if others had been allowed to carry this out they could have bought the club for what it was worth – which was approximatley 1p and moved the club foward and into a far better postion than we are currently in – he’s completly to blame for everything and i hate the mans guts.

having fed my dog 3 large tins of pedigree chum and a packet of laxatives i shall – without further delay – take him to the nearest sports direct shop entrance and will remain until his bowls have been completley emptied.

    up yours fatboy !!!

Sorry Jasper, hate to point this out, but football clubs always run at a defecit. Man U are technically bankrupt, as are liverpool, however, due to the nature of the business it is fine for them to be up to 200mill in the red, as arguably the playing squad as well as all facilities and future earnings can be endorsed as assets. MA didn’t save us from anything other than the prem league.

Ed- its all been said before, Loyalty to the club by the fans gives the fat man all he requires, revenue.
Stop the revenue and you will resolve the issue. So boycott the games.
Can the fans do that? doubt it. So stop moaning and do something about it.

Just wanted to point out, Ashley is no longer a billioniare, he’s blown over a billion on failed attempts at making more money & his current wealth stands at £700m!!!

That’s approx how much Gillet & Hicks are worth & they still seem to give loads of money to the Cessepool squad, saying that tho, they’re approx £350m in debt too, where we are not, well not yet anyways!!!

Yep, the guy had no right whatsoever to put one hundred and thirty something million into the club, who does he think he is.
Now the Halls and Freddy had the right idea, rip the club off for whatever they could.
Where (besides the second tier) would the club be, had it not been sold, ask yourself that question.
    A little reality here folks.

Chuck you are correct, but that does not resolve the clubs problems. As long as Cashley obtains sufficient revenues from receipts to manage the debt and pay running costs he is clearly satisfied.
That this is insufficient to make the club prosper and become a Prem side will only be proved in May next year. He may get lucky though I doubt it. Change of ownership is overdue.

Why are people assuming promotion is a formality? Ashley might attract more money for the club IF we were promoted – but he would have to continue to run the fans’ gauntlet – and who says the market will pay that much more than £100 million? I assume that at the moment any bidders (are there any) are reckoning that the club is worth bidding at or near that price BECAUSE they expect us to get promotion i.e it’s already partly in the current valuation as an anticipated Premiership concern.
On the other hand, if we fail this time, we are much less likely next time and our value will drop significantly as a much less attractive prospect. Is the gamble really worth it? Remember, a bird in the hand……..
….makes it hard to blow your nose!

Whatever ones opinion is about Ashley (he is no favorite of mine) one has to realize he is the owner of the club and as such, is entitled to get as much of his money back as he can .
If that means hanging on until the end of the season and gambling on promotion while spending as little as possible, there`s little anyone can do about it.
I would guess from prior history that`s what he intends, as there does`nt appear there`s anyone willing to come up with one hundred big ones, for a second tier team.
Guess we will have to wait and hope for the best.
