Steven Taylor Still Touch And Go For Tomorrow

It may well be that Steven Taylor misses the first league game of the season tomorrow, as he fights a hamstring injury he picked up earlier in the week.

Steven Taylor – may miss first league game at Nottingham

Hughton told the Evening Chronicle today:

“The fact Steven has been an ever-present shows his value to the team.” “Last season he played in a couple of positions for us, and at this stage of the season, you don’t want to be picking up a couple of injuries.”

“Steven Taylor is a player who has played a lot of games for Newcastle United.” “He’s not a young player – he’s a player who has experience in the team.”

“He’s played for England Under-21s, and he’s played a lot of games.”  “Not only that, but he’s a player who is in good form, and having a very good season.”

“We still haven’t ruled him out completely, but it certainly is a blow for us.”

We’ll not know until 30 minutes before the game starts whether Steven will make it or not  – but we have to hope both Steven and Colo will make it tomorrow.

A pity considering how thin the sqaud is. However, we cannot rush him back too soon. In our Ashley created thin squad we must make sure when players return they stay fit.
