Jose Enrique Unhappy At Newcastle

Jose Enrique has come out today and said that Newcastle’s excellent start to the season is in danger of disintegrating if we continue to play many more games like we did against Nottingham Forest on Saturday night.

Jose Enrique – not happy with Newcastle

The team looked like a relegation side – yes in the second division – in the first half, as we couldn’t keep the ball at all, and every loose ball was picked up by the opposition, who were just quicker on the ball and completely outplayed a very expensively assembled Newcastle side.

Too much like last season for our liking – to be sure – and we were hardly happy at half time, in the game that was televised around the world.

Jose told the Evening Chronicle today:

“It’s time that we woke up now.” “We have been top of the table, which is good, but we need to wake up because we haven’t been playing very well.”

“We can’t think we’re in the Premier League – it’s not true.” “We’ve played only 12 games, and there are 34 games left.” “The team haven’t played very well in the last three games – we have two points from nine.”

2 points from 9, and two of those 3 games were at home at St. James’ Par where we just have to be winning most of our games.

And Enrique believes that Newcastle can’t let the Tyneside fans down again at Glanford Park tomorrow night, and a defeat will very much burst our bubble, not to mention what it will do top the confidence of our lads.

Enrique, who had a good game on Saturday continued:

“We need three points.” “If we want to stay top of the table, we need to win the games.”

“We’ve been lucky, because in the last three games, the results of other teams were not very good, but the luck will not always be with us.”

“If we lost the next two games, we will be in third or fourth position in the Championship.”

“I think we have a good enough team to win these games, but we need to play the 90 minutes like we did in the second half against Forest.”

“I think we lost because we didn’t play very well in the first half – in the second half we played much better.”

Every now and again it’s almost inevitable that the side has an off day, but those games have to be few and far between.

It’s clear we need a good fighting performance from the lads tomorrow night, starting from the very first whistle.

And if we can show that fighting spirit that’s been very evident this season, then it’s likely all 3 points will be ours tomorrow night, and we’ll all feel a lot better for it. 😀

Howay The Lads!!

    bit of a misleading headline there ed, he’s unhappy with the performance but the headlines alludes to enrique being unhappy at the toon.

    anyway don’t matter – performance 1st half was abysmal, second half weren’t much better although we retained posession we didnt look like scoring and had no creativity in final 3rd.

    Is it just me or do we look like we just stand about waiting for the ball to be played to feet – there seems to be hardly any movement to give anyone options so we invariably are marked closely anywhere near the box due to being static

    we need to win against scunny – and harewood will have to lump it if not picked (although carroll was rubbish on sat as well)

    Talk is cheap but then again so is everything associated to Ashley.
    Simon Bird at the Mirror also questions the figures quoted at the weekend by Ashley when he says he puts in 20m per season which is more than the fans put together, yet accounts show 32m + 27m in ticket and commercial sales per year.
    More porkies from Porky?

    We all know the owner is a liar and for a business man his figures stink.

    As the Mirror points out he is now questioning the loyalty of the fans! When will this madness end?

    Oh and now he’s defo in charge of transfers as it’s HIS club, yes Ed it’s his club!

    That headline has got to be a mistake

    Either that or it is a blatant attempt to drum up hits on your site…..I’ve noticed that a lot of articles recently have not had so many comments, so presumably you are not getting so many hits.

    I hope it’s the former…….

    My heart sank when I read that headline, especially with Enrique one of our better players. However on reading this, Enrique says nothing of the sort. Bit of an irresponsible headline Ed?

    Careful Ed.
    These are the same folks who got rid of ,
    Sir Bobby= he`s lost the dressing room
    Shay=he hoofs it up the pitch !
    N`Zog=ungrateful French (whatever)
    Duff= he runs around in circles!
    Bellamy=Little Welsh Whatever
    Jenas= Bling boy
    Dyer= ditto.
    Bramble= lacks concentration.
    All of which are playing great for there new clubs.
    You know you could end up doing a Sunderland blog if you`r not more careful concerning deceptive headlines.

    C`mon, Give Ed. a break, think of the work he does in order that people like ourselves can find a forum to vent.

    Thinking the same thing as everyone. The last thing we need is self confessed fan talking the same utter rubbish the rest of the press does.

    The club is not in turmoil….a few bad results are not the end of the world,,,,,Houghton is the same manager now that he was 4 weeks ago when everyone though he was brilliant.

    So sick of all this negative panicky sh1te.

    Think Jose should maybe have a look at his own performance on Saturday first before criticising others.
