Test Of Character For Newcastle Players Tonight

Chris Hughton knows full well that tonight’s game at Scunthorpe is a very crucial game after Saturday’s calamity at Nottingham Forest.

Chris Hughton – must win game tonight

Chris said this morning:

“It is a big test for us, that is for sure,” “It’s a good mental test of the strength of our players.” “It’s been disappointing to only get two points from the last nine, but we must not lose sight of our excellent start.”

“There is still a four-point gap to the team in third place.” “But we’re looking to bounce back on Tuesday night.” “We have coped with most things this season and this is another test of character.”

“They will be up for it after a good result at the weekend (won 3-1 at home to Sheff Utd), and there will be a big crowd.” “But that’s the norm now wherever we play and we’ve shown we can handle that with some great wins away from home.”

“I believe we have that grit to get a result but we need to mix that with our quality.” “We have been able to fight and scrap through games this season and we might have to do the same at Scunthorpe.”

There’s no doubt that if we don’t get the win tonight there will be a number of Newcastle fans who will think the bubble has burst, and we’ll start to move down the league table.

That’s one reason that tonight’s game is so important for the lads to fight like crazy, because we were simply out-fought and out-played by Nottingham Forest on Saturday night – and it simply was not good enough.

If we continue with that form we showed in so many games last season, we’ll just not make it back to the Premier League this season – it’s as simple as that.

We need a win tonight – nothing else will be good enough.

Having been in the crowd leaving the forest ground on Saturday this has already happened. Many disgruntled supporters … and rightly so … they were crap especialy in the 1st half.

For god’s sake CH do not play Harewood from the start ‘feed the hare … and he will score’ … I don’t think so … ‘feed the hare and he will stumble and spill it’ is more accurate …

He couldn’t keep hold of anything on Saturday … so I say play ranger and carroll up front tonight (or one plus mcloven)

Who would have thought it? A must win game at Scunthorpe.
The lads should be wearing an all black strip in mourning for the old NUFC

A must win game against Scunthorpe?
BR can have little rest with this level of attainment.

    Interesting quote from Hughton.
“We must not lose sight of our excellent start”
Someone needs to tell him that his excellent start means sod all if we dont continue with some half decent form.
