Newcastle efender Jose Enrique believes there are now no excuses from the team for any more poor displays, like the last four games.
Jose Enrique – no excuses from now on
Jose, who is becoming a leader at Newcastle, is simply demanding improvements when the Magpies take on Doncaster on Saturday at St. James’ Park.
He admitted the lads were angry with themselves in the dressing room after the Scunthorpe game, and the Spanish U21 left-back said today:
“If we want to come back to the Premier League then we need to win games. There can be no excuses now.” “We were angry with ourselves in the dressing room after the game, and we do not want a repeat of that this weekend.”
“It is easier playing at home, of course, and we must claim a win against Doncaster.” “The gap is starting to become smaller at the top and after Cardiff and Middlesbrough won there is just one point between four teams.”
“We have a chance now to claim a win and we are determined to do that.” “We are still in a very good position because of our start to the season, but we must pick things up – starting on Saturday.”
A win on Saturday and everything will calm down on Tyneside, and we can look forward to going to Sheffield United a week come Monday, and putting up a good show in that game, with the goal of winning of course.
There is no need to panic at this stage of the season.
A positive way of looking at things is even though we’ve taken just 2 points from 12 – we are still in an automatic promotion spot, so look what may happen is we put a winning streak together.
The only team that can stop us getting promotion this season is ourselves!
