Coloccini and Simpson Both Miss Doncaster Game

nufc-crestDoncaster Rovers FC

Newcastle United have been rocked by a double defensive injury blow, just before his afternoon’s vital game against Doncaster Rovers.

Fabricio Coloccini (groin) and Danny Simpson (ankle) have been ruled out through injury, and this is a huge surprise and severely weakens Newcastle ‘s defense this afternoon.

19-year-old Hungarian Tamas Kadar will finally make his full Premier League debut, as the club looks to end a run of four Championship games without a win.

But these late changes could well further unnerve the side, who have already had their confidence significantly shaken by losing to Scunthorpe last Tuesday night.

These surprising and unexpected injuries don’t help, and we’ll have to hope that Tansa Kadar fits in well at the back, and we’ve been singing his praises recently, as a young player who should be given his chance.

Marlon Harewood – who was a substitute at Scunthorpe United – returns to partner Andy Carroll up front, while Geremi drops down to the bench, after starting at Scunthorpe.

Ryan Taylor continues at right back.

Teams:

Newcaste United: Harper; R Taylor, Khizanishvili, Kadar, Enrique; Guthrie, Nolan, Butt, Gutierrez; Harewood, Carroll.
Subs: Tim Krul, Geremi, Peter Lovenkrands, Ben Tozer, Ryan Donaldson, Wesley Ngo Baheng, Nile Ranger

Doncaster: Neil Sullivan, Jason Shackell, Billy Sharp, Martin Woods (c), James Chambers, Quinton Fortune, James O’Connor, Dean Shiels, James Coppinger, Simon Gillett, Sam Hird
Subs: Lewis Guy, James Hayter, John Oster, John Spicer, Mustapha Dumbuya, Paul Heffernan, Gary Woods

Referee: Darren Deadman
Attendance: tbc

Why isn’t Ranger starting??? Yet another game with that fat lump Harewood up top doing f**k all. He’s putting a halt to the lads progress. Not to worry though i’m sure Ranger will get another 5 mins when Hughton realizes Harewood’s done f**k all for 85 mins!!! Rant Over!!!

    Depressing times………

I would have been laughed out of Leazers Park if last year i had of suggested that we are struggling with out our top 3 players:
    #1 Alan Smith
    #2 Shola Ameobi
    #3 Colo.

But thats the tale of the rubbish we are putting out now.
The last few games have been woeful, not only are the players not up to it of late, the chairman is looking to keep the club.

But apart from the owner, it bemuses me that we are close to appointing a man, who is not even regarded as a top coach, never mind a half decent manager.

I take my hat of to the bloke after the start we had, but how much of that was down to a team spirit of the players, which we have seen all to often at the Toon, it is beginning to wain after a few games !

New league, new hope, new manager !

Same owner, same worries, same premadonnas !

As a fellow hungarian i hope Kadar Tamas will have a good game.

We can win this even if we play our reserves but they must play and just lump balls upfield.

Im expecting us to struggle today. Ranger should be starting but otherwise with suspensions and injuries I dont think there is any other option with the starting 11. I rate Simpson as a right back but as ive said before he simply doesn’t have the height or power for being a centre half, Kadar should be starting in the absense of Colo and Taylor, with no Smith and having to push Ryan to right back…i expect a tough afternoon..

Simpson AND Colo out! Wtf. This could be a tough game, really tough without them.

Btw Ed, you said “Kadar finally gets the chance to make his Premier League debut”. Don’t think that’s quite right. 😛

Never noticed. Our rivals fixtures are –

    Coventry v West Brom
    Preston v Boro
    Sheff Utd v Cardiff

At least there will be points dropped somewhere today.
