Chris New Manager – Ashley Visits Benton Training Headquarters

Chris Hughton will be in charge of Newcastle United until the end of next season.

Chris Hughton -Newcastle-U-001

Chris Hughton –  earned  Geordie fans’ support – so have the players

One of the only good things that was announced last night – apart from Chris – is that Mike Ashley is putting in another £20M into the club coffers.

We’re not sure what that means, and if that is money that will all be available in the transfer market – if it is that’s great news for the team, and for Chris Hughton.

Chris said:

“It is a very proud day for me to be named as the manager of this magnificent football club.”

Ashley paid a visit to the Newcastle Benton training ground yesterday – he was spotted arriving by helicopter – before announcing that he has given up trying to sell the club for the time being.

Hopefully he announced his decision to Chris and the players – who are the most important part of the club right now, and hopefully will continue to be fully supported by the fans.

We cannot group Chris and the playing staff with the stupidities of Mike Ashley.

We fully support Chris and the playing staff at Newcastle, and if they can get the club promoted this season,  it will be a magnificent accomplishment – simply magnificent.

Howay The Lads!!

I’ve a feeling that the £20m will be injected to cover losses and not new money for players.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see but I think we’ve all learned that where Ashley’s concerned, disappointment’ll not be a new experience!

Well thats it for me lads, i’ll be going to the Peterbourgh game to see the imediate reaction then i’m never setting foot in that stadium again untill he goes.
I know i should still support my team and i still will, but i refuse to put another penny in the fat tw@ts pocket.
I couldnt care less how much cash it could generate for the the club if he re-names the stadium, its the final straw for me.
He should have named the east stand after SBR but didnt, should have backed up his promise of investing £20m a year but didnt, promised he would sell the club but didnt.
Im not angry, far from it, im heart broken. So upset that it has come to this, the death of a great club and a slur on the names of every great player/manager/coach/supporter that has ever graced the black and white.
May St James Park live on!

As far as caretakers go Hughton has done a great job managing to organise pre season and putting us on top of the league. 4 -6 weeks ago is when his tenure as caretaker should have come to an end and been replaced by a young forward thinking manager, who gets his players to play expansive football like say QPR. However giving him the job permanently ’till the end of next season is completely unambitious and typical of this club. Man i dunno why i even bother ‘coz everyone knows this should be the case apart from the twats in charge.

The £20 mill is to pay off most of the overdraft which barclays insisted ash to do if he was to stay!
Any bids in January for any body and I fear the worst!

I also thoght that a contract of 18 months was so short may 2-3 years that wld have shown MA being ambitious.

@Mark-o I can not agree more with you. For how long you will be going to give money to Mike and thinking it will change. He has not shown one sign of improvement in his character. And everytime with his announcements he is widening gap between himself and fans.

Only good thing I can wish at this moment is. Somehow (I know it will be very difficult) CHRIS gets us promoted with this team. Then a buyer comes in pays Mike good money and here we go. Sell most of players we have. Need to keep just 4-5 players form this team rest needs to be shown the door.
