Steven Taylor Expected Back For Saturday

The news we wanted to hear today – Steven Taylor will return to the squad on Saturday afternoon, when we take on Peterborough United at St. James’ Park.

Steven Taylor – back on Saturday

But it may be that Chris will again start Coloccini and Kadar on Saturday, and bring on Steven say for the last 30 minute

But if Chris plays Steven for the full game on Saturday then  he will be more match fit for our next game at Preston North End, which will be tough.

In fact Steven Taylor did not travel to Sheffield for last night’s game.

The game on Saturday is also the last one before the International break – when the World Cup playoffs will take place.

As may have been expected, with Fabricio playing his first game for a while, and Tamas making only his second league start,  both center-backs last night were a little shaky at the start but recovered well.

Chris told the Evening Chronicle today:

“Coloccini’s a good player, and when you think of the type of game it was, for him and Kadar to cope as well as they did was terrific.”

“I’m delighted to see Colo back, and hopefully the good news will be that Steven Taylor’s back next week.”

Chris is also sure he did the right thing in leaving Steven out of the squad last night so he recovers fully before he comes back.

Chris added:

“We were desperately hoping he was going to be back.”  “We could have played him, but it would have been a real risk.”

“In hindsight, now we’ve got the good result, it was the right decision.”

Now we need to get 3 points on Saturday and then we can relax for a couple of weeks, but the game at Preston will be a severe challenge – that’s for sure.

Welcome back Staylor, Kadar is a good prospect but looks a little shaky (Reminds me a little of a young lad called S.Taylor when he first started playing?). Zurab is a joke at CB, so I am delighted to see you back mate.

If we are buying Zurab, I would like to see him as RB as he was amazing there against Ipswich

I posted this in teamtalk but i thought itwould make an interesting topic to discuss on here

How good a team could each of you make using players who have left your club and are currently still playing in the premier league? So in the case of Newcastle we could have.. Shay Given, Habib Beye, Sebastian Bassong, Sylvain Distin, Aarron Hughes, James Milner, Jermaine jenas, Damien Duff, Charles N.zogbia, Scott Parker, Lee Bowyer, Kieron Dyer, Craig Bellamy, Michael Owen and Louis Saha.. I am pretty sure I could make a good team out of those players.. I have probably even forgot a few.. Can any of you rival this team.?

    Given
    Beye Woodgate Bassong Distin
    Milner Parker Jenas Duff
    Bellamy Saha

Subs: Hughes, Owen, N’Zogbia, Dyer, Bowyer. Not bad team! But TBH pretty pleased to see most of them gone!

On last nights game. I thought Kadar improved a lot throughout the game. He was shaky at start, but near the end settled. I wouldn’t rush Taylor back!
